24.01.2022 This crf 450 /big bore was brought to in to us we were told doesnt start. This is were its at Valves hitting pistons and all bent . Went to do a timing mark inspection before pulling down this engine to reveal this is a steam train edition... over 4 litres of water in the gear box .

19.01.2022 HAVE YOU CLEANED YOUR AIRFILTER AND LOST THE BOLT ????????????? ... This is a problem I have crossed paths with over the years This time this engine was lucky enough not to be destroyed its the simple air filter bolt In this case its fallen Into the boot went through the carby and caught up in the reed block cage You are giving your whip a wash and giving it the once over Giving the air filter a clean after riding all weekend pulling that air filter retaining bolt out resting it on the back of the bike or siting it on the sub frame while removing the filter from its cage . Wash the filter dry it out oil it grease it go to put it in and BAMMMM the gravity ghost has knocked the bolt in to the air box boot ... looking for that bolt for 3 hrs pulling your hair out cant find it ahhhh well Just bang a new bolt in put another bolt in. If you cant find the bolt thats missing stop look hard for it inspect everywhere check the carby intake boot even better or good practice place the bolt on the bench ,magnetic tray or a container even Buy a airfilter cover to stop this happing Keep in mind Bolts dont just disappear and can be a very costly issue This is just one occasion .. some thing so simple that can be a costly exercise .. and easily avoided Keep it real Keep it rubber side up and hold it wide

If your bike is suffering from symptoms like difficulties to start especially in the morning or lost of power even though youve sent it for regular servicing, its time to get the valve clearances checked out. Not maintaining proper valve clearance can result in not only lost of power of start up difficulties but also potential catastrophic engine failure or engine In the engine, there are a number of valves that control the intake flow of the much important air and fuel mixture into the engine and also to divert exhaust gases out. Simply put, its how the engine breathes and theyre one of the most hardworking parts of the internal combustion engine. With the constant revs of the engine, the valve clearances are reduced overtime in accordance to the wear of the valves and seats. As the bike gets older, the valve clearances have to inspected and maintained on a regular basis.
