18.01.2022 SAVED ! (at least for now). We have just received notice that the Minister has actually refused something, on many grounds, but heritage is included ! The build...ing is the early Modernist (Art Deco) former Grange Lynne factory in A'Beckett Street, designed by noted Burley Griffin disciple Edward Billson, which was (mysteriously) one of the post-war buildings whose listing was delayed by Matthew Guy in 2013. It was still unlisted when this proposal first emerged in 2015 - decried at the time for 'eating its heritage host' (due to completely dominating the preserved facade, which was left largely as a free standing empty screen wall). Finally heritage listing was approved by Richard Wynne a year ago, and things have turned right around with one of the many reasons for refusal being 'not adequately addressing heritage guidelines'.
