23.01.2022 'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze; He turned away the good old horse that served him many days; He dressed himself in cycling clothes, resplendent to be seen; He hurried off to town and bought a shining new machine; And as he wheeled it through the door, with air of lordly pride,... The grinning shop assistant said, "Excuse me, can you ride?" from MULGA BILL'S BICYCLE by A.B. "Banjo" Paterson We will begin live-streaming the service honouring Mervyn via the Keatings Funerals Streaming Page on Facebook at 10:50am on Friday 14th August 2020. 20.01.2022 She cultivated something called everyday courage. It meant acting boldly. It meant she knew what she was worth. Sometimes the landing was soft and sometimes it was not... but she always discovered, in the end, she was where she was needed to be. See more

19.01.2022 But it's hark! the whistle's blowing with a wild, exultant blast, And the boys are madly cheering, for they've struck the flow at last: And it's rushing up the tubing from four thousand feet below, Till it spouts above the casing in a million-gallon flow. And it's clear away the timber and it's let the water run,... How it glimmers in the shadow, how it flashes in the sun! By the silent belts of timber, by the miles of blazing plain It is bringing hope and comfort to the thirsty land again. - from Song of the Artesian Water by Banjo Patterson
19.01.2022 We first met in the ’50s somewhere in our late teens, We shared a catching pen by day and at night we shared our dreams, We both worked with Fred Snr at fencing and watermelons, too and at smoko time Fred told his stories - mostly true.... There is a tale I’d like to tell before my stories through, about a Brumby named Rarjar, And friends this tale is true; When I first saw Rarjar he was just standing there, collar roped and blindfolded, Three legs on the ground and the fourth leg in the air, As Freddy climbed on and off to make Rarjar feel his weight Fred looked at me and said, When I nod, open up the gate. Collar rope was taken down, the blindfold shaken loose, Fred sprung into the saddle then all hell broke loose. Rarjar tried to do his thing but there was little room to move, Fred gave me the nod and then I made my move. I opened up the gate and out old Rarjar flew, into the big yard, his mane and tail all askew, Fred Snr on his camp horse shouldered Rarjar round and round, then he called for the gate out onto open ground. As I ran for the gate, I heard a mighty yell, a thought went through my head, This may not end real well. Out on the open flat, they went full steam ahead, Old Rarjar still doing his best to unload young Fred. Round and round they went till both were horses white with foam Old Rarjar knew that he’d been beat, So, he turned gently back for home. In my memory, there’s a picture of two great horsemen Through and through And in both their veins the deep bright red of Turner blood ran true. Rest in peace old mate. - Gary McDonald
18.01.2022 Life's a hurly-burly bustle That all human life engages. One prolonged and endless tussle For its luxuries and wages. Should not honest toil have merit.... Art that soul and brain designeth? Since we one and all inherit Gifts that only work refineth. Proves a man of noble nature. Sweep or lord of lofty station. More than laws of Legislature, Honest men like Bob make a nation. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob's memory may be made at: https://www.leukaemia.org.au/make-a-donation/donate/ Bob's funeral service will be live-streamed for family and friends who are unable to attend. 17.01.2022 The perfect woman, you see is a working-woman; not an idler; not a fine lady; but one who uses her hands... and her head and her heart for the good of others. - Thomas Hardy We will begin live-streaming the service honouring Ilma via the Keatings Funerals Streaming Page on Facebook at 10:50am on Thursday 27th August 2020. 16.01.2022 Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf.... So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down today. Nothing gold can stay. - Robert Frost
16.01.2022 We are part of a community so rich in strength, compassion, loyalty, and mateship. Today we honoured a great man, and had we not all been impacted by a world kept apart, our Catholic Church and its grounds would have been overflowing with family, friends, and love. Before we close on today Anthony and I and our team would like to thank just some of those who helped us in honouring Scott. My sincere apologies to any I have missed. Once made aware, I will alter my message to i...nclude you. Dan Rogers, of Intelligence by Design, and Rhonda Bruggemann, for your excellent addition to the streaming services at Our Lady Help of Christians' Church. Your service and professionalism aided us in ensuring those who were not able to be present felt as though they were. Deepest thanks to staff and students from St Joey's for taking the time away from class to form a guard of honour, and in doing so, showed great respect to a man and a family who have contributed so much to the school. To the Chinchilla Race Club Committee; your contribution has aided so many in finding a path to healing. There is so much more to be said for what you did today but I hope that you know you have our support for life. To the team of workmen of Chris Buckley Plumbing and Civil based on the worksite in Middle/Canaga Street who downed tools for the duration of the funeral; you have shown great leadership and respect and we are grateful. We are so proud to be a part of this community. Thank you all. Anthony and Maria See more

12.01.2022 May you fly with magic wings On clouds so soft and white, May your heart be joyful And your days be bathed in light.... And though our hearts are broken And your life was far too short, We thank you, sweetest angel, for the happiness you brought.
09.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE: The funeral ceremony and burial for the late Denis James Moran has been rescheduled to take place at 11:00am on Friday 9th April 2021. On Wednesday 24th February, Council advised that, due to excessive rain, the cemetery is currently inaccessible. Please share this information with your family and friends. Old age is trying hard to get a Nelson full on me, And little imps are driving spikes in shoulder blade and knee;... But still my soul is young enough to sit a right good hack, And many a time it rolls the swag and starts upon the track. The young lads now are just the same as young lads long ago; But if the distant fields are green, the distant times are so. At shaker or on windlass, as I watch the merry crew, I'm battling with the horses in the early days of Cue. Through Brigalow and Mulga land And rivers swollen wide, By saltbush spinifex and sand Towards the Great Divide.

08.01.2022 To mother, we would turn for all her loving kindness, she asked nothing in return. As we look upon her picture, sweet memories we recall,... of a face so full of sunshine, and a smile for one and all. - from 'Irish Funeral Prayer'
07.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION. The love and respect for a man as great as Bill cannot be contained in the beautiful little church of the Holy Trinity, therefore Bill will be farewelled from his beloved race track, The Dawson Jockey Club. Attendance at funerals is still capped at 200 mourners. Please email Keatings Funerals at [email protected] prior to 12pm Thursday 25th February to register your attendance. Broad-minded, big-hearted, whole-souled, whose life... and character linger long after the cordial greeting is stilled, and the hearty handshake is but a memory; whose silent influence forever lives. - H.W. Mumford

07.01.2022 Life, like a flower, Precious and lovely For its brief hour. Passing storms may beset... The valiant bloom And strengthen it yet. The sun and the rain Bless in their turn Easing the pain. The quiet, holy face Of each unique one Speaks of God’s grace. And when, as each will, They drift from the stem We remember them still. - Frances Prentice, poet We will begin live-streaming the service honouring Jean via the Keatings Funerals Streaming Page on Facebook at 10:50am on Tuesday 1st September 2020. 07.01.2022 Jenny Heaven has been blessed By the truest and best. How can such a one be gone?... How is it life goes on? As our tears fall like rain Our thoughts turn back again: The warmth in her smile, The spring in her step, The love in her heart For all that she met; The sweetness, the grace - She mothered us all - Beloved, kind-hearted, Brave, she stood tall. Be blessed now, our Jenny, As God welcomes you in; In that Heavenly realm We will see you again. Written for Jenny and Les Kerr By Frances Prentice, Poet 4 September, 2020

03.01.2022 To live content with small means, to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not just respectable, and wealthy, not rich, ... to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly, t o listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never, in a word to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common, this is to be my symphony. 02.01.2022 Donations in Gloria's memory may be made to Cancer Council, Queensland at: https://cancerqld.org.au/donate/gifts-in-memory I know that no matter what You will always be with me.... When life separates us I’ll know it is only your soul Saying goodbye to your body, But your spirit will be with me always. When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch, I will know it is you singing to me. When a butterfly brushes gently by me so freely I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain. When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention, I will know it is you reminding me To appreciate the simple things in life. When the sun shining through my window awakens me, I will feel the warmth of your love. - Tram-Tiara T. Von Reichenbach

01.01.2022 A farmer such as he requires a strong mind, big heart, and profound patience. Weathering long hours, harsh conditions, and unpredictable prices. Faith, commitment, and integrity. Strength for the unwavering labour that is ... the foundation of life itself. It is here where roots run deep, where families are bound strong. Shared experiences are grown with love and tenderness. Where examples speak louder than words. - Bonnie Mohr
