11.10.2021 Rounding out our coaching appointments for the 2022 Colts program, we are happy to announce Lee Fathers as Assistant Coach. Lee’s introduction to football was in 1971 with the foundation of the Jindalee Jaguars, a club that was built and forged by the young families of the time (including Lee’s). His junior footy was played here from 1972 (U7’s) through to 1984 (U17’s), captaining the U16’s team to a premiership against Coorparoo in 1983. He was selected in a Brisbane West sc...hoolboys teamin 1984. 1985 & 1986 were spent at QAFL club Sherwood playing in the U19’s teams and included a handful a reserve grade games. Time away from the game followed, however, the opportunity to play with his brothers saw him playing in the SQAFA competition with the Centenary Jaguars in the early 90’s, eventually hanging up the boots in 1993. Lee coached junior teams at Jindalee during his time with the club and continued to do so even during his time playing at Sherwood. I have been involved with Australian Football clubs for as long as I can remember, and thank my dad Jim for getting my brothers & I playing our great game. A hiatus away from the game (1993 to 2011) ensued, however, my son James took an interest in the game from an early age and I was soon back into the groove of weekend football. Stints at Aspley and Zillmere were enjoyable experiences culminating in an U16 premiership for James in 2018. Moving to Kedron for the 2021 season and coaching the Colts team was an extremely enjoyable experience. I am excited and grateful to work with Joel in assisting him coach the team for season 2022. His relationships, experience and history with the club are outstanding qualities that I look to embrace and pass on to the team. Thanks to Glenn, Spud and the committee for allowing me to be involved with the Colts football program. I am looking forward to a rewarding and successful campaign.
