25.01.2022 On Saturday at Ferguson Park in Enoggera we were represented at the 'opening' of a swale project by Healthy Land and Water, funded federally under an initiative by Trevor Evans MP. Similar projects will seek to restore riverine habitat, and Geckoes Wildlife gave a delightful explanation of how this will encourage wildlife. Some of the locals are keen to do more work on Sandy Creek, which joins Kedron Brook at Grinstead Park, and we may be supporting them in that regard.

17.01.2022 Here's a shout to Michelle and her team at the Toombul Shopping Centre for responding to a call and clearing up the accumulating litter along the Brook below the mall. We all need to become more conscious of reducing litter and encouraging others likewise. Not having a bin nearby is no excuse to just toss stuff.

10.01.2022 Celebrate World Habitat Day at one of our three Environment Centres at Boondall, Downfall Creek or Karawatha! Relax and enjoy nature with a bushwalk or learn all about Brisbane’s unique flora and fauna. Find out more at: https://bnecouncil.cc/3ndKujI

04.01.2022 In slipping a couple of bulrush rhizomes into the rock bank the other day I was delighted to find freshwater mussels using the habitat. Previous efforts with the local phragmites reeds from lower down the Brook have resulted in some improved cover to the aggressive engineering solution.

03.01.2022 Some video snapshots along lower Kedron Brook - wildlife in the city!
