19.01.2022 We are human: we depend on others and this is called independence. We grow up in social contexts, supported and denied, enabled and disabled by those around us. While environmental barriers and enablers can be relatively easy to identify and can potentially be changed by the utilisation of legislation and policy, people with a disability also face barriers that relate to societal attitudes. These societal attitudes are shaped by cultural representations of disability. While there are some specific conditions that are associated with particular stereotypes, there are some commonalities in the ways in which disability is represented. https://www.ted.com//stella_young_i_m_not_your_inspiration

12.01.2022 Be accountable for your life choices. Be responsible for your behaviour. Be accepting of your actions. Be self determined to create the kind of life you wish to live. This world isn't black and white. There is plenty of grey areas. We cannot change the past, adjust the present or predict the future. So try to see everyday as an opportunity to embrace life, including the good, the bad and the ugly moments we all endure. We are only human after all and shit happens. Horrible. T...raumatic. Crazy arse shit. Unfortunately, we cannot control others choices. We cannot control the system. We cannot control mother nature. What we can control, is our attitudes, beliefs and values. We can create our own version of success without it needing to fit into a societal box. We can choose to believe in the greater good and find our inner strength to carry on in our weakest or saddest moments... just don't give up on yourself. Hold onto that sense of hope. Hang in there. You're worth it. Love xx See more
10.01.2022 Healing from trauma takes time. It takes hard work. It takes real support and help. Wherever you are on you're healing journey, never give up on yourself.
08.01.2022 Arh, well, Ive personally watched this video so many times, taking away something new each time I listen to this living legend speak her oh so wise words! Brenè Brown is one Social Worker who is truly influential when it comes to encouraging people to sit with the power of vulnerability. If you havent seen this before, please take the time to listen for your own self care. Enjoy xx https://www.ted.com//brene_brown_the_power_of_vulnerabilit
04.01.2022 I believe this is something every single one of us should practice each and every day. Self compassion is so important for good mental health and wellbeing. Be kind to yourself. Let yourself truly feel in order to heal.
03.01.2022 I'm obviously not biased at all https://youtu.be/A27QjpQ_Ieo
