23.01.2022 Cigarette butts are the most common littered item across Australia (and also on Earth), so do the right thing and bin your butts! Cigarette butts are small and often go unnoticed, but this tiny piece of waste has lasting effects on our environment. They’re mainly made of cellulose acetate - a man made plastic that can take up to 10 years to break down! Plus, the plastic contains tons of toxic chemicals that leak into the environment and threaten our wildlife. Also, carelessl...y tossing butts into nature poses a major bushfire risk. And, they’re a potential spreader of germs too - something we all want to avoid in a pandemic! Australia has done the right thing to stop the spread of COVID. Now it’s time for us to do the right thing and stop the spread of cigarette butts. #dotherightthingoz #sustainability #fightwaste #litterfighter #environment #ecofriendly #take3forthesea #green

21.01.2022 Plastic has become one of the biggest threats to our oceans' health. Millions of tons of plastic waste washes into the sea each year, where it breaks up into small pieces that kill our wildlife. So, if you see litter on the ground, please pick it up and dispose of it correctly. Rubbish in our streets, parks and communities will likely end up in the ocean after rain and wind. 19.01.2022 Coffee cups are just one of many single-use items that are adding to our planet's waste issue. Worse still, disposable plastics run the risk of ending up as litter where it can cause harm to our natural environment. We can all do our bit to reduce waste, starting with a little extra planning. Keep a reusable coffee cup in the car, at home and in the office. If you don't have one, can you spare 15 minutes to sit down and enjoy your cuppa in the cafe? 14.01.2022 This Valentine’s Day let’s break that toxic relationship we can’t seem to end... with plastic. Plastic pollution is a growing problem in the environment as it doesn’t break down - it breaks up. For example, a single plastic bag can break up into a million tiny pieces, causing micro-plastic particles that won’t decompose. In fact, plastic can last up to 500 years in our oceans, waterways and parks threatening the health of wildlife and even humans. ... 13.01.2022 As technology continues to advance, waste continues to pile up. E-waste has become one of the fastest-growing waste on the planet, producing around 50 million tonnes each year. Improper disposal of electronics can leak toxic chemicals into our environment which causes pollution and imposes a huge threat to our ecosystem. The best way to limit our tech waste is to:... Reduce - Question before you buy: do you really need the latest iPhone? Maybe not. Reuse - If you really do, then sell or donate your old device so it won’t end up in landfill. Recycle - Many communities have e-waste recycling and drop-off depots that can properly handle these materials.

Look for food with less packaging, single-use snacks are an easy one to leave out ... 4. Store food in the right containers so it doesn't go off in the fridge or pantry 5. Compost!
