25.01.2022 SOLD $170 Lovely single vintage Queen Anne bedside tables that has been refurbished in a peacock blue chalk paint, then sealed with wax on the body and matt topcoat on the top. The edges have been picked out in gold gilding wax, which complement the original brass handles.... The table is in great vintage condition, with no marks or gouges, and the paintwork is new and perfect. The drawers slide well. Measurements: 52 long x 37 deep x 63 cm high As per Stage 4 restrictions, my items cannot be delivered or privately collected until travel restrictions have eased. 24.01.2022 So this just happened.... my new little studio/shed finally dropped at my place - YAY!!! How cool is this little space? To say I’m a little bit excited about this studio is an understatement. My painting will no longer be reliant upon favourable weather conditions - AND - I don’t have to pack up every night. A dedicated space all to myself (bliss)... But whatever you do, don’t call it a she-shed (ugh) My first project to christen the new space (which we’ve dubbed Norway) will be the tallboy in the video. 24.01.2022 A lovely pair of bedside tables that were commissioned to match a dressing table. What were once plain and white are now a lovely dusky pink (FMP Damask) with the drawer fronts featuring anaglypta wallpaper panels and a touch of gold wax. The finishing touch were gold shell handles...pretty, huh? 24.01.2022 I ask you, how tragic and neglected is this once lovely Queen Anne dressing table? It needs lots of love....and lots of lovely emerald green paint! (And a little bit of gold) I bought this now retired paint colour with this very piece in mind - Wise Owl’s Emerald City. Just imagine what a pop of colour this will be in a bedroom, or dressing room. Sadly I don’t have a mirror for this table, but wouldn’t a gold mirror above it just be beautiful? ... The top and drawer fronts have been stripped back and stained driftwood, then sealed in a satin topcoat. The drawer fronts also feature a floral stencil. The handles are a lovely solid brass.... 12.01.2022 This awesome vintage lowboy/dresser just landed at my place. (Sorry, not my photo - my OCD kicks in every time I see the drawers out of place) I’m not kidding when I say that these paint up beautifully, and this one is in great nick. I did one very similar one back in July, just to give you an idea of what it can look like. ... This baby will be grey - either a deep charcoal grey or a mid grey, like Fusion’s Soapstone. The handles will be kept and polished up and a little gold wax added. Oodles of storage for the bedroom or living room, and I think it’s a great height for a flat screen TV, so would make a great sideboard/TV stand. DM me if you are interested. 11.01.2022 Scored this roadside find a little while ago with every intention of painting it green and using it as an outside table. Guess what? I did it! Like, when has that ever happened? Usually I would procrastinate so long that something like this would end up ruined and rotted, fit only for hard rubbish. 11.01.2022 How pretty is this commission piece? I’ve now painted 4 of these 9-drawer dressers and each and every time I’m amazed as to how pretty they are. This lovely piece is painted in Fusion French Eggshell with Picket Fence highlights. Add some clear and white liming wax on the drawers and a couple of coats of Cabots matt on the top, some pretty glass knobs and she’s good to go. The console table has been refurbished in a deep green chalk paint on the base, then waxed and lightly distressed. The top has been painted in black chalk paint, which has been sealed in an eggshell finish. ... The small drawer is divided and features a new matt black shell pull. 03.01.2022 Working on this bad boy today (or should I say bad girl), because this tallboy will feature ombre drawers in either pink or duck egg, which would perfectly suit a little (or big) girl’s room. The body will be crisp white, as will the top small drawers, then the 3 longer drawers will graduate in strength to either Peony (a really lovely soft pink) or French Eggshell (a perfect duck egg/greeny blue) The top handles will be white ceramic bunny knobs, and the remaining knobs wil...l be the white ones as pictured...scroll through the post for more photos. 01.01.2022 Not much is happening at the moment in the Keep Calm and Upcycle camp...in fact, I’m starting to run out of projects. My stored stash is dwindling. I do have a few larger pieces (ie. dressing tables and a couple of small dressers), but not much else as the restrictions have meant that I can’t go out and find new gems to upcycle. Having said that, I DO have one of these super cute solid pine children’s bench to prettify. ... It doesn’t look much now, thanks to layers of grime & old varnish, but imagine how sweet it will be in a new colour. Now, I first thought a lovely light bright blue, such as Fusion’s Little Teapot....but then I was thinking more gender neutral and go for Fusion’s Bayberry, a lovely muted deep olive green. Wouldn’t that look super cute in a neutral or even jungle themed room? Check out the 2 colours and projects (not mine) they’ve been used on - maybe this little piece is just the ticket for your child’s room. Or perhaps you have another Fusion colour in mind? 01.01.2022 Another pretty pair of vintage bedside tables that were also commissioned. Soft pale grey, white highlights and burnished gold handles was the brief, and I think these nail it! This lovely pair were painted in L’Essentiel’s Ultimate Finish Stockholm (sadly now discontinued ), which has a lovely smooth finish. A little bit of white (FMP Picket Fence) drybrushed on the moulding, white liming wax on the drawers and Cabots matt on the body.
