17.01.2022 I sat down yesterday and interviewed @erin_miller_inspired for a new series we’ve started a look into the life of. Given it’s just been Mother’s Day and Erin walks and talks self care I thought she would be the perfect person to start with. For the full interview head over to our website. Below is some of the best bits. Tell us what you think. What advice can you give to other mums on self care unapologetically: Well first of all we need to encourage one another to stop the... old programming that says we are selfish for doing so or that we need to look after everyone else first. It is your self responsibility to put yourself first. If you do not take care of yourself first then how can you be the best version of you and how can you then look after your family the best you can if you are depleted. What are your best self care go-to’s: I always try and find little triggers that I set up in my daily routine like having my salt lamp or incense going. These are things throughout the day that trigger good feelings in me. Busy mums can find mini moments throughout the day. It might just be 10 minutes to sit and have a cup of tea. It’s ok to set boundaries for this time too. You are showing your children that you are entitled to uninterrupted time and that they need to respect you and your time. I see you have a wellbeing retreat(details at @erin_miller_inspired) this looks like the perfect opportunity to unapologetically get some quality you time what’s driven you to run these: For me not taking care of myself resulted in clinical depression. I spent days where I couldn’t even get out of bed. It has taken me a long time to recover and during this time I knew there just had to be a better way and I found it through taking care of myself and listening to what my body needs. So now I want to inspire others to do the same. To read the full interview with lots more words of wisdom from Erin, head over to our website. 16.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day! We are all doing our best, it’s not perfect but the end result is love! #mothersday #notperfect #love

14.01.2022 Nits!!!! I’m itchy just thinking about them. Our school recently conducted a whole school head lice check (which I love that they do this), all 5 of mine were clear phew! I thought it would be a good time to share my tip for treating head lice: Don’t waste your money on expensive treatments. We use cheap cheap $1 a bottle cheap conditioner. The conditioner coats the lice and stops them from being able to move so you can easily comb them out.... This is what I do: * Apply to dry hair, preferably white conditioner (did I mention cheap?) this helps the lice stand out more. * Lather heaps on all over so the hair is heavily covered. * Leave for a few minutes to stun the lice and stop them from moving * Comb out with a metal nit comb. Each stroke wiping clean on a towel or tissue. Breaking hair up into sections so the entire head has been combed. * Wash as normal * Repeat every couple of days. It takes up to 7 days for eggs to hatch so repeat at least twice in 10 days. * Wash all bedding and treat the rest of the family and continue to check hair weekly for the next 4 weeks. Hope this helps #nits #itchyhead #cheapconditioner

10.01.2022 Bolognese in the slow cooker for tonight. I don’t often do it in the slow cooker but tonight we have basketball so by the time we get home the kids want something really quick. I just have to cook the pasta and it will be ready and hot to serve! What’s your favourite slow cooker recipe? #slowcooker #bolognese #afterschoolsports #keepemactive

03.01.2022 Morning exercise class done @meekfitness. I love being able to go to such a relaxed child friendly class. I get to feel good about getting my daily exercise in while I role model healthy habits to my girl!
