16.01.2022 Last week I had the privilege to design and 3D print 60 key rings to commemorate and celebrate the 1st birthday of one of Kiama’s most vibrant and beautiful new churches ‘Generocity Church’. https://www.generocitychurch.com.au/. The print itself was a PLA eco-friendly plastic filament print - 30mm x 4mm circle base - with 2 inserts - set with a 0.15 nozzle. ... A fairly straight forward print - but our largest batch order to date. After the initial brief and design consult we made a pro-to-type of the logo set in black and red and once we got the ‘all clear’ then we spent the next 2 days completing the print and tweaking the process in time for the birthday celebrations. 15.01.2022 Tomorrow is the end of week 4 of business for TRUSTY TAGS . I have learnt a lot ! I have learnt that no matter how needed, how great, how well priced or how much I believe in my excellent product - it cannot and will not sell if no-one knows about it ! As much as I am opposed to pushing my products on FB and trying to get my products known - I just want to be honest with you all and say this ... over the next few weeks and months - you’ll see into the heart of this new baby ...business - you’ll see me designing and sketching and working my butt off to get some sales and persuade you to share my posts and buy something from me - so we can survive longer ... You might decide to block me cos you get sick of seeing my posts - and I wouldn’t blame you ! It’s honestly ok - YOU truly are in control here ! But for those of you my dear FB friends and family who stick around - and who quietly watch and support with a sigh ( cos it’s ‘her’ again) - and give me an occasional ... and a comment and an odd share and one time ‘maybe you even click -shop!’ .. 04.01.2022 Trusty Mumma’s 3D printing Journey Blog 1 You may not understand the concepts of 3D printing or how it actually works - and I don’t blame you . I was oblivious to the processes involved in 3D printing until I began wanting to build my own creations.. but luckily for me I have a live in guru- Damian to teach me . Damian has learnt EVERYTHING he knows about 3D printing from the school of YOUTUBE .. yep - my clever man like many people has watched hours of footage listen...ed to podcasts and read many online articles pertaining to the subject. One thing I’m always impressed about is the generosity and freedom of information shared by fellow entrepreneur 3D printers! The problem shooting forums and discussion boards are full of many great tips and ideas openly shared to help solve the many many issues arising from this incredible technology! When you begin the journey into 3D printing there is a mountain of stuff to begin learning . I thought you bought a printer and plugged it in .. then simply downloaded a file - chose the colour filament you wanted and ‘BOOM’... a few minutes later you’d be holding a perfect creation ! But it’s not the case ... Below I have 2 photos of identical models . The green model is built with a 0.4 nozzle and the blue model is built with and 0.15 nozzle. The larger the nozzle the fatter the strands of filament will be . Similar to drawing with a crayon - compared to a sharp pencil - The green model took 45 minutes to build - compared to the blue model which took over 5 hours. The Trusty Tags we design and build are always done with the 0.15 nozzle to give a beautiful smooth and refined finish. The small details are intricately formed and the overall product look is amazing . Using a 0.4 nozzle is great for large builds that have limited detail - Damian mainly uses it for his prototype work and when trialing a design for a project he’s working on.
