24.01.2022 This week is National Child Protection Week. A week that is used to promote messages around prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and Child Protection. Did you know that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys are sexually abused before they are 18 in Australia? With this campaign, we want you to ask #aretheysafe. Are your children, the children around you and the ones in your workplace safe? Have you done all you can to keep our children safe? Please follow the link and head to the ChildSafe Australia page to get in contact with them and find out what you can do to help protect our children from Child Sexual Abuse.

15.01.2022 As a parent and a survivor of child sexual abuse; I will go to any length to protect my children from experiencing the same abuse I did. But the reality is as they get older and start school, begin to go to sporting events, get involved in community and even start work; I can’t always physically protect them. But these organisations can by ensuring that children in their care are safe. So let’s ask the question Are They Safe? Are our kids safe in your organisation? ... ChildSafe is hosting an event in Melbourne on Monday 3rd September where parents can learn the right questions to ask and organisations can ensure that our kids are safe and protected from Child Sexual Abuse. Let’s create a world that is safe for our children together. More information and link below

14.01.2022 95% OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE VICTIMS KNOW THEIR ABUSER. We both knew ours. They were men that our families and communities trusted. The more we, as a country, talk about this type of abuse to our friends and family, the more likely we are to put a stop to it. If you need help knowing how to talk to your family (especially your children), friends and co-workers about sexual abuse please head to these organisations websites: https://www.childsafe.org.au/... https://bravehearts.org.au/ #breakthesilence See more

07.01.2022 Did you know that in most cases of Child Sexual Abuse the victims know their perpetrator? As parents we do everything we can to protect our children, but at times they are in the care of others - people we of course know and trust to care for our children. This is most often the case when our they get to an age where they are involved in sporting, school and community groups. But have you ever asked the organisations your children are involved in, are they safe? ... This coming Monday, ChildSafe is hosting an event for parents to educate us on the right questions to ask to ensure organisations are doing everything possible to keep our children safe. That every worker, volunteer and adult involved in these groups are protecting our children and not taking advantage of them. If you want to ensure that you are doing everything you can to protect your children, and that they are still safe when they aren’t in your care, this is an event not to be missed.
