24.01.2022 As August ends so does National #Tradies #Health Month. From all serious claims made at work, Tradies take up over half of those claims! (58% to be exact). Keeping in mind that tradies only make up 1/3rd of Australia's #workforce. Most #trades require constant #physical work, and it's important that a Tradies physical health can keep up with the constant physical pressure of their work. This means #exercising outside of work, eating well and if something starts to get sore,... don't just 'push through it', get it checked out! National Tradies Health Month is ending but that doesn't mean focusing on your personal health should come to an end too. #construction #plumbing #electrician #plumber #builder #carpenter

21.01.2022 R U OK Day is such an important reminder that we never know what's going on in another persons life let alone their own mind. A simple question, that can have a huge impact. Let someone know you care. Ask if they're OK. #RUOK #ruokday2020
21.01.2022 A Toolbox talk is an informal Safety Meeting about a specific topic relating to safety in the workplace. These usually take place in relevance to an issue or task employees are about to perform, (eg. It might be as simple as wearing the correct PPE for certain jobs). Toolbox talks are aimed to educate and inform inexperienced workers and to remind experienced workers correct procedures and working measures. By bringing everyone together, they also give workers an opportunity... to raise any safety concerns and allow them to be addressed straight away. Toolbox talks are not a course and do not qualify someone to do a job without the correct and appropriate training. Toolbox talks should be recorded with minutes written about what was discussed. For every toolbox talk, there should also be a list of employees present at the meeting. They're a quick and easy way of making sure everyone in the workplace understands what they are doing and what is expected of them. #toolboxtalk #safetyfirst #teamwork #leadership #construction #keepitsimple #safety #workplacesafety #OHS #WHS

19.01.2022 We are very excited to announce a new member of the team, Tony! 1. Why do you work here/ What interests you about KISS? To be totally honest it all happened very quick. During this current Covid crisis, I was happy and felt extremely fortunate to actually have a job... But for some strange reason I decided to have a look at the local job market and noticed this position advertised. From when I first contacted KISS about the position, to scheduling an interview for the very n...ext day with Shayne. I was so impressed with the honest, open, friendly and professional attitude he has about his business, staff and life. The following afternoon I received a call from Shayne offering me the position and 4 days later I started this new chapter of my life After moving from Sydney to Mildura 3 years ago with my beautiful wife and four children, and now a fifth child, I was always on the hunt for a company that provided honest reliable services that benefits the greater good of our community. Work, Health, Environmental Safety and quality management are certainly at the top of that list. 2. What is your job here at KISS? My initial focus will be to ensure everyone I meet gets a KISS (Only joking). This is a very exciting opportunity for me, there is excellent potential to develop KISS into a multi-million-dollar business. We have a great product and exceptional service delivery; we have no global boundaries as all our services can be offered from virtually anywhere in the world. 3. What's one thing you enjoy doing outside of work? My 2-year-old, Mattias, certainly brings the most joy to my life at the moment, being part of his life in these early years is priceless, it also allows me to behave like a child. But when I have time to myself I love to play piano, it’s something I have been doing from the age of 5, it’s in my blood and it helps me to still the mind and remove myself from all the worldly distractions that occupy our lives.

14.01.2022 #Burnout is a state of #physical, #emotional and mental exhaustion caused by excessive #stress over a period of time. Burnouts decrease productivity and overall can make a person feel #sad and drained. It affects your personal, #work and #social life and can, in the long-term, lead to illnesses due to the immune system being weak. Here are some ways to deal with a burnout: Talk to your boss, partner and/ or friends. Tell them that you have been very stressed lately and that y...ou are finding it hard to deal with the workload. They can help you out where needed. Eat healthy and drink lots of water: Looking after yourself physically can reduce burnout. With more energy from good foods and little chance of dehydration, it's definitely going to help you out. Take some time to relax: Ask your partner to take the kids out for 30 minutes and have a relaxing bath, cleaning can wait, it's not going anywhere. When they come back offer to swap so they get some relaxing alone time as well. Sleep: Let yourself get a good nights sleep (or at least try to). Sleep is the best way to let your body recharge itself.
14.01.2022 In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.... We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. #LestWeForget #WeWillRememberThem
