25.01.2022 6 meter Hooker Bow repair Bow some how got smashed in , sorry I don't have pics of what it looked like .... Ground it all completely back and cut out all soft smashed fibre glass where needed , anchor well glassed Inside and top deck as well as the front flare... ... Ground back to suit 4 x layers of 600 glass and 2 x layers of rovern matting , faired and flow coated .

20.01.2022 Full stern remove and replace ... This stern was relaced nearly 2.5 years ago ... sad to see how some major businesses only partly do a half job , as us as locals that use boats on a daily basis to be used as we say our transport rather then cars as south of us. We use boats for work and hard hammar at it cray diving and for recreational use and alot of it .... This is why , please check the boat fully before purchasing secondhand , especally floors and stern , if your not s...ure ask someone that fully knows boats and has had alot to do with boats ....... If you do want quality and proper full job done msg or call us for a quote .. Yes we are local, yes we know boats and even better , we know what the cape amd Torres straights waters are like .... 19.01.2022 5 meter Haines Hunter Drifter ..... A huge massive job for one of our clients... All Rotten ply cut out where needed ,Nd a sandwich system used to re do around the back seats and well .... ... Brand new custom made here with us, front deck with anchor well and storage compartment as well as middle back seat as requested from our client .. The hull sides was cleaned and buffed back to its shiny state As taking our the front width strenghtners and front side pockets, we had to strengthen along woth the natural flex and twist of the hull while the boat travels and lay the glass to suit the right ways and also a 2 pack compound epoxy rubberised glue used while fixing everything together to not stress and fight against the natural ways of the boat ... This was a massive and very successful job , but it came up a treat ... We would like to thank our Clients , bala John whap and sis Karen Kaene for trusting us and using our local business up here in the Cape and Torres ... 17.01.2022 Haines 16R brother Victors whole new Stern ready to be glasses in with new strenghterners on the inside... Defiantly keep you guys posted on progress as there will be a lot of glass more so roven matting and epoxy resin glue as the stern of boats need to be safe and strong .. Template cut it and adjusted , then on to Marine ply to suit , all will be full water and weather proof as each process is applied layer by layer getting best and strongest results .... ... J&S Boat Detailing and Repairs the only way to go , as we know what the seas are exactly like up here ....

16.01.2022 5 meter Wahoo , full external. This was a huge job as there was major issues with osmosis in the glass and extended gel coat repairs long before we could get even close to looking at finishing this project. As the client to this boat had rolled on flow / gel coat , made it alot harder to sand back due to the texture and not enough catylst in the product to set it off proper , was still sticky under the surface the more we sanded , but eventually got there ... ... Scooped and cut out all osmosis, dried it all out with heat blowers and acetone as there had to be no moisture left at all ... 2pack epoxy filled and faired back then on to the sealer , primer and finish coat .... Our client wanted new gunnel rubbers , as the old one was worn pretty well , the gunnel had to be pre fixed as the lip that connects to the top sides of the hull was well and truly gone ... New glass and rivets had to be made so the new rubber could be put back on ... Thank you to Bevan Barber from TI , on trusting and using our local family business here at the Cape.

09.01.2022 Add on to a plate Aluminium boat for a electric spot lock outboard. Acid washed colour matched, sealed and prined and painted to the customers request .. Thank you to Joe and Cindy Rainsfield in bamaga for using and trusted our local business in Seisia

07.01.2022 6 meter mercury / Seapro / Wahoo . Stern strengthing as it has pulled the moulded seats , floor strenghting and had cracks along inside walls to floor , and now both stern to back seat and floors to walls fully sealed and fully glassed . Stern will be reinforced from the inside as to customers request and back seat will also be strengthened ... Stern has had full 2 pack epoxy gap filler with micro flex added for flex in the stern , sanded back . 4 layers of 450 chop matt...ing 2 layers of roven matting to give it the ultimate bond , strenght and endurance . Floors had 2 layers of 450 strand matting and 1 layer of roven in between .. all glass is hand layed and fully worked so all strands are layed fully stretched for maximum strenght.. not much to go now before paint . The outter stern will have aluminum plate welded to shape for full push pull of outboard .... Like what you see ??? Do you have a boat laying around and always wantes it done properly?? Final touches as customers wants bigger horse power , so stern is getting aluminium plate 6mm and also special washers made up in support on the stern of boat an natural flex of hull ... 05.01.2022 This is one of the very first Hooker Dorys , that was cut down for crayfishing from factory under spacial order. The boat was in a bad state when we bought it off Peter Alloy on Thursday Island for $300 back in 2003 and was used as an everyday work dory off the mothership. It was ready for the dump . . This is one of many projects that we have done in the past , not only the boat but also fiberglassing and restoring the outboard aswell. The boating lifestyle, building, and restoring has been one of the biggest part of our family history.

05.01.2022 Really appreciate the support and patience from all our clients so far.. We are a husband and wife team. My husband revamps the boats on his own and I do the books and Supervise LOL. 03.01.2022 This one is a Marlin BroadBill Cat 5.6 meter. This one was an enclosed front cab , formally a passenger ferry for Rebel Marine in Thursday Island back in its day, and was out of use for a long few years before we bought it for $900 in 2010. This project was turned into a centerconsole and took fair time to work out as we had restore and rebuild to the natural flex of the build of boat. Complete full sanding of old paint, spot filled with 2pack epoxy filler , sanding base coat , then uncoated and finshed coat applied. complete cut out of cab and built a centerconsole to suit and maximize space.

01.01.2022 Haines V 16 R .. continued from previous post . Stern replaced 2 years ago , due to short cuts from who ever done it last time had failed. Full remove Rotten stern and replace . ... Marine ply , 2 pack epoxy glue and resin used and full water and weather tight . Due to the fact that the client might want to repower down the track with a little more hp outboard , 6 mm aluminium plate internally and externally, cut to suit stern where it meets all the strengths and requirements...
