25.01.2022 This is definitely a Keinote mantra! You can do anything you want to, at any point in time! Don't let anything stand in your way! Some of my newest goals: 1. Learn to play the Cello... (have not yet started- need a cello) 2. Write a book (I have a title and outline ) 3. Be able to run from my house to Woolies (4km) (I can almost go as far as the park..... across the road - 500m ) 4. Play all 3 Gershwin Preludes (1 down, 2 to go)

14.01.2022 Strolling down memory lane this crazy wet Saturday night! Circa 1998, I was 10 and we had just won 1st place in the under 12s Music Eisteddfod as a trio! It was such an amazing day and such a awesome experience after months of rehearsing! Side note: Denim dresses were cool back then! (thank God my mother didn't make me wear the matching denim bucket hat ) and Yes!! I was wearing gloves to protect my cold little fingers.. most of you won't find that surprising! Hope you're enjoying this cold start to the school holidays!

13.01.2022 so beautiful.. we are incredibly lucky to have such a gorgeous venue for our musicians!

12.01.2022 I love when classics get a new life! This incredible Bill Withers hit written about his own grandmother sounds amazing with Meg Mac's killer pipes!

11.01.2022 Music Acronyms. I never used them when I was younger, I was just taught to rote learn the notes. Many teachers have different views on acronyms, some love them and some hate them. I am a firm believer in using anything that helps the individual student. I have learnt so far in my teaching career, that no 2 students are the same. I will always use any method, every method available to help my students learn the best way thats suits them.

10.01.2022 This is sooo cool! I think even Beethoven would've liked this!

04.01.2022 Bought a Ukulele.. learning how to play while waiting for the bed sheets to dry! I think musicians should always keep growing and learning and experiencing music in any form. While piano will always be my first love, I have learnt and very much love singing, saxophone, clarinet (briefly) and now Ukulele - soon; Cello, Guitar, Violin and drums!! It is NEVER EVER to late to try something new or pursue a dream! ... Please share with us your musical and non-musical ambitions!!

03.01.2022 KEINOTE MUSIC INSTAGRAM is up and running!

03.01.2022 Yes, you probably should be practicing hmmm as should I! Here are some of my TOP 8 practicing tips! 1. Consistency is key! ... It's actually better to put in 20/30 minutes a day 7 days a week than to put in 2 hours a day for a week and then miss a bunch of days next week. 2. Consistent repetition. If there is too much space between practice sessions its harder for our brains and hands to really make the progress we crave. 3. Focus on one task at a time. You don't need to attack the entire piece (song) in one hit! Set SMALL GOALS. Your brain works better dealing with small pieces of information than huge chunks. Try and accomplish one thing in your practice time. It can be as simple as remembering to play the Bb in just one chord! 4. 100% of your attention. Don't practice in between your favourite TV show or 5 minutes before your friends come over. It's better to have a set time to practice so that you're not rushing through it just to 'get it over and done' before you get on with the rest of your day. 5. Warm up first! Play a few scales! Play a song or two that you know really well - this is not practice this is just enjoying some music while stretching and warming up your fingers. 6. SLOW not Fast! Practice slowly. It is a known psycho-physiological fact that the brain cannot absorb musical information in detail when playing fast. Take your time! The slower you go, the faster you'll get there. 7. Keep a practice journal/ Record your practice Record what you practiced and for how long. Write it down in a diary a few notes about what your goal was and whether you reached it. Also, we are so lucky with easy access to smartphones and tablets and laptops; record your practice so you can listen to your own progress. This is a crucial practice strategy. 8. Study away from the piano. Some of the best practice can be done without a piano! Look at the music, read the notes, study the shape. Try hearing the music in your head and practice moving your fingers smoothly without the piano.

03.01.2022 I'm not going to lie... this is how I discovered it when I was little too
