25.01.2022 Thanks to all those who turned up to our Junior’s day yesterday. Apologies that the trophies weren’t available to collect - our mighty President Paul Constable had a reaction to giving blood and couldn’t attend to bring them. Scott Stark will get all trophies out to the recipients in the coming weeks. Timeline is as follows:... Hoping to wrap up registrations by tomorrow. 24.01.2022 We're excited to let you all know that Keira registrations for the 2020-21 cricket season are open! All participants are encouraged to register by September 15th, with the anticipated season competition play start date being October 3rd for Seniors & October 15th for Juniors. Of course, the situation with COVID-19 may cause plans to change, but for now it is full steam ahead. We will be adhering to Cricket Australia COVID-19 Guidelines for Cricket Activity - you can view this... document on our website for important information pertaining to how COVID-19 will affect this season. This season Keira Junior registration will include a Keira shirt, with your preferred size to be advised during the rego process. Don't forget to redeem your Active Kids voucher during the rego to save $100! Keira Senior Grade registration has the Early Bird discount available if you register & pay before September 15th. If you qualify for a further discount for being a Life Member or having played more than 100 Senior Grade games for Keira, you will receive your voucher code via email in the next few days. Please keep an eye on your inbox and our Facebook page for info about the commencement of pre-season training. 21.01.2022 It is with much regret, that we advise that this weekends Finals are abandoned. This situation was forced on CI by the decision yesterday by Cricket Australia to "strongly recommend" that all games be called off, and subsequently CNSW who advised that associations "should" call off cricket. Their decision's effectively do not guarantee insurance cover if we proceeded, even though constitutionally, CNSW have no powers to order us off the field.... As such, under the rules of Cricket Illawarra, the following teams are declared Premiers: 1st Grade- Northern Districts 2nd Grade- Keira 3rd Grade- Wollongong White 4th Grade- Keira Red As you would be aware also, Cricket Illawarra Senior, Junior & Junior Rep Presentations have been cancelled.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Keira Cricket Club's newest life member Andrew "Horse" Horsley. Horse has been demonstrated many years of "Keira Pride" which started in under 10s in the late 70s and then in a premiership winning First Grade side in the 80s. Other senior premierships followed in 2nd grade as well as recently co-captaining our third grade side to a premiership in 2015/16. Horse has also served our club by coaching, coordinating and training juniors and seniors as well ser...ving on our Committee. If you played with or against, or met Horse at one of our functions you will know he is a cricket tragic but more importantly one of the most upstanding humans you will ever meet and is the heartbeat of our club's culture. A dozen players took to the nets in the first formal training session for 2020/21 for Keira Cricket Club in acoordance with Covid Safe requirements. The welcome return of Toby Felvus from his stint in England was definitely a highlight of the morning. ... Looking forward to building on what was a great first session. 13.01.2022 Last year's $1000 draw was won by non other than Michael "the professor" Higgins. He in fact won this with an auctioned ball. Moral of the story is, if you didnt buy a ball, come ready to buy an auctioned ball tomorrow night, it might end up being the highlight of your cricket season! The front man for the night will be Jack @the_lab Dobinson. Some say that since becoming a father, he has added a few dad jokes into banter repertoire. if you didn't buy a ball, coming to listen to Jack on the mic is enough reason to come to Figtree Sports tomorrow night.

SENIORS 1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade have Sunday as a spare day 4th Grade Preliminary Finals are on Saturday... and if washed out then the top 4 teams proceed to Sunday’s Semi Finals. 20 overs each constitutes a match. If Sunday is washed out, the top 2 teams in each grade proceed to Final. 06.01.2022 Our 4th Grade Gold squad hit the Keira Oval nets this morning for their first offical hit out for the season. The squad consists of a number of ex junior players and their mates returning to the club to rekindle their careers. They completed an energetic and upbeat session, with players freely offering advice to each other on how to improve their game. Welcome back Looking forward to a awesome 20/21 season!

05.01.2022 A BIG shout out to our coaches to publicly thank them for an awesome year! As you've already likely heard, our Junior Presentation has been cancelled due to COVID-19. The plan is to have it in July instead, as a season launch and presentation. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. This season we had the highest number of junior players that we've had for many years - and the least amount of complaints! If you are free on Saturday we are having an end of season celebration at Keira Oval from 12-5 and the club is putting on some beer and a BBQ to celebrate a great year. Of course, we’ll also celebrating that 2nd Grade & 4th Grade are Premiership winners!

01.01.2022 Keira Committee wish to advise that Keira's Annual General Meeting will be held online via video chat, Wednesday 16th at 7pm. Our preference had been to hold our AGM face in face in traditional manner and we thank you for your patience and understanding as COVID-19 forced the postponement from the traditional timing of this meeting. I ask members interested in attending to reply to this email with indication of such, so that we may send you an invite link closer to the date.... Minutes of our previous AGM are available to view on our web site. There is a Keira Life membership nomination of Andrew Horsley, which will be presented at the upcoming AGM and is fully supported by the current KCC committee. If you wish to nominate for a position on the Executive or General Committee, you need to provide your nomination in writing/email 14 days prior to meeting. If you would like to vote by proxy, please contact us and we can send you the required form. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting. It is requested that any questions you have be sent prior to the meeting to be sure it is included in General Business. Only financial playing or White Lion members over the age of 18 are able to vote during the meeting. You must be a financial member as at 30th August to be included in a vote.
