25.01.2022 #throwbackthursday to the 2008 W.F. Waters Award Night. Photo one: Stephen Rahill, David (Wombat) Lyons, and Richard (Gonzo) McCoy. As well as being good friends, the three worked on many projects together, the biggest being AJ2007 at Elmore. Gonzo headed the 'Game On' base - four of five sites of 100% Rover run activities, such as an inflatable water park and junior motorsport. Steve helped with that, and Wombat worked wth the heritage team. Steve's WF Waters Award also re...flects his time on the Hoadley Region Rover Council, time on the Surfmoot committee, and the many hours he spent getting our crew buggy 'All Barred Up' running. 19.01.2022 Last night we played a super fun online multiplayer game called 'Among Us'. The aim is to find the imposter among the crew members (kind of like Mafia/Werewolf) and throw them off the ship before they kill everyone. We also did some planning for next term, which could only be done in the den of course, so Brendan changed his virtual background to suit. #scoutingfromhome #rovers #amongus

16.01.2022 We're back for 2021! Here are some pictures from January; We had a blast at Surfmoot, with our personal kiddy pool to keep us cool down at Eumerella. Our overnight gate duty was long but it was wonderful to see all our Rover friends again from different units.... There were also a couple of Scout camps at Rowallan that Dirk attended to help reintroduce our youth members to camping. We kicked it off on Friday with Debate Night, arguing topics such as whether chocolate belongs in the fridge or pantry, zipper vs over-the-head hoodies, and the most superior flavour of Smith's chips. 12.01.2022 Movie night this week for KFRC!! Only took us an hour to decide which to watch, with our highly democratic voting system. Eventually we decided on the Korean zombie movie Train to Busan ! We enjoyed picking out plot holes and deciding which characters deserved to become a zombie. #rovers #movienight

06.01.2022 #ThrowbackThursday to Fitzgerald Cup 2004! 'Fitzy' Cup is a Moonee Valley District competition camp for Scouts. It has been running at Rowallan since 1928, and Rovers regularly attend to help out and join in the fun. Looks like KFRC got a double A grade for the competition in 2004! 02.01.2022 Over the long weekend, the annual competition camp 'Fitzgerald Cup' was held for the Scouts of Moonee Valley District. KFRC sent up a patrol of Rovers to help out and enjoy some friendly competition with the Scouts. As expected, our campsite and gateway were perfect. In fact, our patrol did so well that we broke the scoring system, achieving a grade of AA. Well done to many Scouts from across the district who came along to compete.
