24.01.2022 BOOST YOUR IMMUNITY (Part4) During a float, your Immune function is enhanced by suppressing stress hormones. Stress hormones not only weaken the immune system, but also suppress the digestion and reproductive systems, affect regeneration processes, and decrease insulin sensitivity. Floating gives your body time to rest and recuperate, and gives your immune system the opportunity to shift into a higher gear, strengthening your body’s immune response.

23.01.2022 This is Zac and his Dad. Zac is 12 years old and has Anxiety. We started Zac with a 30minute session to see how he would go. In the float pod Zac listen to one of our meditation tracks called "How to create anything"... To everyone's surprise he ended up doing a full hour! At the end of it Zac was glowing and had really calm demeanour about him. Zac said to us that he thinks floating can help ease his Anxiety. We agree with him, float therapy is a great way to help kids transition back to school and reduce their Anxiety levels See more

21.01.2022 5 Reasons Why a Bath Can Be Healthier Than a Shower ... SIMILAR TO A WORKOUT Hear us out on this one: No, bathing can't replace your workout. But exercise physiologists found that it *will* have similar effects on your body afterward, due to the rise in body temperature. In one small study, researchers found that an hour-long bath burned approximately 140 calories in each person (which is about the same number of cals someone would burn during a h...alf-hour walk). What's more, immersing all your limbs in the high heat can also help regulate your blood sugar. REGULATE BLOOD PRESSURE Heat therapy, such as soaking in a tub for 20 minutes or so, can help stabilise blood pressure and contribute to overall better heart health by increasing and improving blood flow to and from the heart. This can help reduce both blood pressure and cortisol, which will ultimately calm you from the inside out. SHARPER MIND Not only will your limbs feel less sore and more relaxed following a bath, but studies on balneotherapy, a type of mineral bathing, show that bathing can also help you experience less mental fatigue. You probably already know baths reduce stress, but hey, we're always down for a scientifically sound excuse to chill out. BATHS KEEP YOUR IMMUNE HEALTH UP! Elevating your body temperature with a hot bath can actually boost your body's ability to fight infections and viruses. And if you're already sniffling from a cold or allergies, slipping into warm water can actually aid the flow of oxygen throughout your respiratory system. BATHING AND BETTER SLEEP Simply making a routine out of rituals like relaxing in the tub at the end of a rough day has been reported to improve sleep quality, and baths Comment "YES" if this makes you want to hop a bath right now! 19.01.2022 5 Reasons to Break-up with your Chemical Make-up Did you know: The skin is the body’s largest organ and absorbs up to 60% of what we put on it This is why it is important to understand what ingredients are in your skincare products... Products are allowed to be marketed without government approval of these dangerous ingredients. 1. PARABENS Parabens are used as preservatives in cosmetics as well as fragrance ingredients. They are found in moisturisers, dyes, lotions and shampoos and are used for their creamy, foaming qualities. 14.01.2022 If you and your family didn't end up killing yourselves during the lock down then you did great! But if you're feeling it was close maybe it's time for a massage Here are 4 surprising benefits of getting a massage after lockdown..... #1: It counteracts all that Netflix and chill you did (We all did) Have you ever sat for a long period of time and then your back or neck got sore? This is where Massages come in, they can counteract the imbalance caused from sitting. #2: It eases muscle pain Just like rubbing your elbow when you knock it on a table helps to relieve the pain. Massage increases and improves circulation which helps reduce muscle pain. #3: It boosts immunity A 2010 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that massage boosts patients’ white blood cell count, which plays a large role in defending the body from disease. #4: Isolation Anxiety and Depression This lockdown has put a lot of pressure on families. Thankfully studies have shown that patients who were depressed and anxious were much more relaxed and happy, and had reduced stress levels after massage. #5 You're a nicer person. Times of stress can bring out the worst in people but that's not who you really are. A massage can really help bring you back to centre. When you're feeling better everything starts to look that little bit better. "If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" See more

14.01.2022 The kids are going in as a group this year to raise money for their school.

13.01.2022 Who's talking about the mental health effects post COVID??? 1 in 4 people will become afflicted with mental disorders. The World Health Organisation (WHO) says around 450 million people in the world suffer from mental health problems. (That's before COVID)... These numbers are alarming. That’s why doctors and researchers have been looking for treatments for this type of illness. One area of interest is floatation therapy which offers relief from depression, anxiety, and stress. WHAT IS FLOATING? Floating is also known as "Restricted Environmental Stimulus Therapy" (R.E.S.T). It is a pod that mimics a zero gravity experience and reduces external stimulus. Note: If you don't want the full sensory deprivation experience you can ask our staff to play tracks for you like our "mental detox program" CASE STUDY: The BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine Journal published a study on flotation therapy in 2012. It involves 65 participants: 51 women and 14 men. They all have mental problems like pain, stress, anxiety, depression, and lack of motivation. The group was divided into two where the first group of 37 participants fell into the flotation-REST segment, while the remaining 28 people form a control group. THE EXPERIMENT In seven weeks, the flotation- REST group participants were given twelve therapy sessions of 45 minutes each. After these, they were compared to the control group (No float sessions) RESULTS Before the flotation treatment, the average stress among the floatation-REST group which was at 1.86 dropped to 0.95 after the therapy sessions. In contrast, the control group’s average score went from 1.84 to 1.89. The same trend was observed for anxiety and depression. For depression, it dropped from 4.42 to 2.25 in the floatation-REST group, and rose from 4 to 4.30 in the control group CONCLUSION: No matter who you are, parent, school student, young or old. Float therapy can help reduce stress. anxiety and depression. See more

11.01.2022 5 Surprising Reasons Why You Need An Infrared Sauna In Winter The latest research is revealing that getting into a sauna once or twice per week can in fact decrease your chances of getting sick. Here’s how! ... 1. Keeping your white blood cell count up. The heat generated by an infrared sauna stimulates energy at a cellular level, which, in turn increases the body’s production of white blood cells. These cells act as a first line of defence when infection strikes. An increased production of white blood cells (stimulated by the infrared sauna) can help the body fight off illness. 2. Trigger the immune system. Give me a fever and I can cure any disease Hippocrates. In fact, a fever is the way our body creates the conditions for the immune system to perform better. An infrared sauna session puts your body into a ‘fever’ which in turn triggers your immune system to act to protect you. 3. Release toxins. Modern day life is full of toxins, from the air we breathe to the food we eat to the products we use in day-to-day life. A major benefit of infrared sauna sessions is detoxification. If we can sweat out the nasties our immune system has less to fight off. 4. Stress relief. High stress produces high levels of cortisol, which can often results in a weakened immune system. Regular infrared sauna sessions help balance the cortisol levels and relaxes the mind and body. 5. Increase your cell regeneration. Infrared sauna sessions stimulate cell regeneration. This type of regeneration can help get rid of cells that might be old, damaged or ineffective and replaces them with new cells. This process does happen naturally, however, the infrared sauna session speeds up the process, helping the body run as smoothly as possible. This is especially beneficial during the colder months as the body is being attacked more frequently. BONUS: While you're in there, it feels like summer is back See more
