24.01.2022 I was going to wait to show you this... but I just can't help myself. I am so in love with the wedding day of Emma and Michelle! It has been the most emotional day I have captured in my career so far. I truly feel so incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to meet both of these beautiful souls! 20.01.2022 Want to know the secret to choosing the perfect Wedding Photographer for you? Here are my 3 tips: 1. Choose a style that you LOVE.... Every Photographer has their own unique style both shooting (posing, lighting, composition etc) and editing. It is so important to love your Photographers style because this is what makes them... them. 2. Choosing a professional with experience is a must. A wedding day happens once and it happens quickly, you want someone who knows how it rolls. An experienced Wedding Photographer can work with the unexpected effortlessly, we do it all the time. 3. Choose a Photographer you vibe with, someone you like. This may seem silly, I know! You’re hiring a professional for a service, right?! WRONG!! Your Photographer is going to be by your side longer than anyone else on the day. This is huge. 17.01.2022 Do you know what day it is? It's World Kindness Day! And I wanted to take a hot minute to chat about the importance of showing kindness not to others but to self. Sure showing kindness to others makes the world a better place, but so does showing kindness to ourselves! It's hard to take a minute for ourselves... I get it! I'm the mum of two beautiful children, wife to a wonderful man and the sole operator of a constantly growing small business. How do we fit it all in?... ... by giving ourselves grace and love! Reminding ourselves that we can't look after everyone without looking after ourselves. Whether that looks like a spontaneous coffee date, a monthly massage, or a hot bath at the end of the day. 15.01.2022 Goodbye to you 2020. The year that was beautiful yet ugly; Slow yet chaotic; Terrifying yet peaceful;... Lonely yet connected. It was a year not many of us were prepared for and I’m not sad to see it go. Whist it was a challenging year, it was also full of beautiful moments and we must not forget to see the beauty even in the darkest of days. So like many, I welcome 2021 with my arms and heart wide open to all of the beautiful moments that will unfold. Happy New Year to you! Kel x

14.01.2022 Let’s chat styling! Styling your session doesn’t have to be complicated and stressful, in fact it shouldn’t be. Let me run you through the styling for our own family portraits taken just yesterday.... 1. Start with a bold pattern. Now, I say bold because fine patterns such as fine pinstripes do not photograph well. A rich, bold pattern is going to add a point of interest and a colour and tone palette 2. Select colours from the colours within the pattern. Our session incorporates white, black and rust in 3 or the 4 outfits. 3. Balance dates and lights 4. Stick to the same tonal range. If your clothing is rich like ours, obviously a pastel colour is not going to work. 5. Add a pop of colour. This gives your portraits next level impact And lastly... have fun with it! 12.01.2022 How I document my family... I'm not one for "posed" photographs. I just don't love them! My focus is not about making pretty pictures. I am about documenting life.... scaling it back to find the beautiful simplicity in connection while we are all knee deep in life.... It can be hard to put into words or even know what is we REALLY want out of our family portraits. Most times we want beautiful photographs, in nice clothes, in a nice place with everyone blissfully smiling and the reflection of a perfect family. But what would happen if you dug just a little deeper? I document my family in purely a photojournalism style. What does that mean? "Photojournalism is the accurate documentation of people, places and events that will eventually become history". I capture what it is they love, their clothing choices, their spirit, the way they show love or their sense of adventure. Because... when I reflect on what each of my special people mean to me these are the things I want to remember. These are the moments in my life that I want documented. This is how I document my family. This photograph of my beautiful Mumma holding my niece is just one that I will treasure forever. This is how I think of my Mum, a place of warmth, of nurture, of unconditional love and unwavering support. True strength and softness all in one. I remember her nursing my own babies just like this, when they were itty bitty, swinging from side to side shifting weight from heel to toe on each swing all with a good tap on the bum and lots of kisses behind the ear. This is my Mum in all of her perfection... and THIS is what I want documented. If you picked just 1 of your favourite people and then listed 2 details about that person, what would you write?

We had a ball with many laughs! You made us feel very comfortable, slightly silly but that's normal hahaha. We have enjoyed every session! ... Our favourite part was getting our photos back, but we loved all of it. It is always fun and Blake never complains, so he must enjoy it too! We have been able to have all of our special moments with you and many more to come, I am sure. I also love that you offer different products, something unique. 05.01.2022 You may not know... I am a second generation Wedding Photographer! It's like it was always meant to be for me, just written in my stars. A love for photographs that lies deep within my bones. I can't help it, it is just who I am. And so it seems.... this love of ours continues on within our family <3

05.01.2022 Every road block stood in their way and yet... love won <3 Emma and Michelle have faced every single obstacle possible in the journey of arriving at this day. They had a venue that didn't come through for them, then a ceremony location that was double booked, then renovations at their ceremony... just to top off their decorations with high visibility construction tape. And yet... they took it all in their stride.... But what hurt most... the absence of loved ones. Due to border closures in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the passing of a very special Grandma the celebration was far from the perfect day they had planned for a long 18 months... and yet... it was so, so perfect!

04.01.2022 My last formal of 2020... was full of laughs and incredible style. If you are looking to book your 2021 formal please get in touch. I have extremely limited dates for next year for all sessions and formals are limited to one session per school. Kel x

03.01.2022 The relationship between a Photographer and a client is well, in my opinion meant to be an intimate one. I share some extremely personal experiences with my clients a lot that the world outside doesn’t see. New life moments once in a lifetime moments last momentsare all things that I document.... It can be overwhelmingly emotional and incredibly special and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
