23.01.2022 New drought declarations have been announced across eight Queensland regions including Moreton Bay... So what does this mean for Landlords of properties in our area? Whilst dam levels in the region have fallen below 60% capacity, Unity Water is yet to impose restrictions at this time. Water restrictions will come into effect should dam levels drop lower than 50% capacity. However, Landlords should keep in mind that properties in our area are drought-declared and adjust expe...ctations accordingly. The grass certainly won't be as lush as it was twelve months ago. But also, Tenants are still in a position to maintain the yard to ensure lawns & gardens don't die. According to Unity Water, their recommendation for watering of yards & gardens is only when needed or no more than twice weekly in the early morning or late afternoon. This is what we'll be recommending to all Tenants in properties with yards & gardens that need to be maintained.
