23.01.2022 The beautiful seascapes of Raja Ampat's vibrant reefs were a sight to behold. There are many indicators of healthy reefs, and this one had much herbivorous fish and variety in predator fish. All signs of a healthy coral reef, but was still missing the apex predators, sharks. Even though on 20 February 2013, the Raja Ampat government declared the entire 4 million hectares of coastal and marine waters of Raja Ampat a shark sanctuary. Hopefully, with continued education and less demand for shark fins, these beautiful and vital species will return to their rightful place in these ecosystems. #savethereef #rajaampat #diving #scuba #sharks #reefhealth #swimswimswim #underwater #underwaterphotography
18.01.2022 This beautiful pectoral fin had me all sorts of jealous, quickly splashing through the water, showing off their sweet moves. The scaring is often from the baby scratching up against their mother's barnacles, but the white and black markings on the underside of the fin are their unique fingerprint.
