21.01.2022 We both are so happy we chose Kelly as our celebrant, we definitely made the right choice. Kelly went above and beyond and really helped us make it a very special day. She took the time to get to know us both and our love story which she then spoke about at our ceremony, which was just beautiful. She assisted us in every detail and also donated a percentage of her fee to SAFE Broome (doggie refuge) for our dog Marley being part of our ceremony. 20.01.2022 Determined to turn their COVID lemons into lemonade and opting for the ‘show must go on’ approach, Storme and Adam swapped the Seychelles for Eco Beach Resort to officially become Mr & Mrs Falla. 20.01.2022 Ive been a bit quiet posting on social media over the last couple of weeks, mainly because Ive not really known what to say as we watch this crazy situation unfold. A lot of what we are all feeling right now has already been said so Im not going to rehash it. But I am throwing my 2 bobs worth in to give some huge kudos to all of the couples who I was set to marry this year. Faced with a disappointing and shit situation, every single one of you has been selfless, kind, humb...le, insightful and accepting.....all with a side serve of much needed humour! The words of gorgeous bride to be, Chrissie, sum it up completely; Although we were a bit bummed, we are also happy. It doesnt really matter to us whether we marry this year, or next decade. We are happily in love and have the whole rest of our lives to celebrate it, so whats another 12 months in the grand scheme of things? And the added bonus for me? 14.01.2022 Taking a break from usual proceeding to be rather indulgent and share this beautiful photo of my dog Bessie, captured by Holii from In The Wilds of Someplace earlier this year. We rescued Bessie at 4 months old last March. She’s grown up to be a very happy, loyal, energetic dog who is a total daggy dork [just like her parents!]. And let it be known that I’m partial to serenading Adam with a bit of Cat Stevens ‘I Love My Dog’ from time to time....she is one very loved hound! ...We are lucky enough to be able to walk to the beach from our place, and these walks with my brindle mutt are one of my favourite things in life. If I wasnt a celebrant, this story would have likely never found me. Its this part I love. Ive always been interested in the human condition so meeting couples and hearing their stories gives me a lot of opportunity to indulge. 08.01.2022 down time Broome is pretty warm right now. Town and life in general is a lot quieter and we all tend to slow our pace down to adjust to the season. So with that in mind, you will find me little less active on the socials over the next few months. Ill still be here popping up occasionally, but Im looking forward to shifting some focus away from the screen and unshackling myself from the chains of social media... {please excuse that slightly dramatic clich but ya get my ...gist}. 04.01.2022 long post warning Celebrant me turns 1 today. When I first became a celebrant, I really didnt know what to expect. Heck, I didnt even know if I would get any bookings! But here I am, actually doing it. And I bloody love it. A huge thank you to all of you who have entrusted a baby celebrant with the special task of getting you married....very grateful ... One thing that has been rather unexpected but super lovely is the amount of support and friendships Ive made with other celebrants, largely thanks to the The Celebrant Society. Attending their annual conference as a {very} green newbie was hugely inspiring, albeit slightly intimidating! But I learnt truckloads and made some awesome friends and mentors which has been instrumental in my development. And here westside, I have the WA Hitchers gang who have welcomed me with open arms and provide constant 100% support and backing. True #communityovercompetition So in a nutshell, Im loving my new venture. Im loving meeting all of the people, Im loving marrying all of the people and Im loving the opportunities its giving me for personal growth {sorry to get all self-help on you but its true!}.
