20.01.2022 Nothing like some bright, happy wattles to inspire a painting. Let's roll with this vibe and may your day be filled with sunshine and smiles!
17.01.2022 Flowers for Granny. So special to be able to paint a special request for Granny in her favourite colours.
16.01.2022 I love having art on the wall. It's a bit like travel where I find that the more places I visit the longer my "places I want to visit" list grows. The more art I have on the wall the more I seem to covet! I love discovering new artists and following their work. Right now this wall has my @nellsymonds.art piece alongside one of mine and one my daughter painted. I love how different they are, yet they hang happily together.
16.01.2022 Over time this piece has been through many different phases, taking on a very different look each time. She's now settled, calm and found her space to breathe. #100daysofbreathingspace @ Perth, Western Australia
14.01.2022 Playing on paper, thinking about what it feels like to be in natural bushland with blue skies above. I am very fortunate to have a small parcel of banksia bushland opposite my house. When I look out of our front door or my studio window I see beautiful, native bushland and I just love it.
13.01.2022 Inspired by the ocean, gorgeous gardens and the amazing feeling you get from being in the ocean. This large piece was commissioned for a beautiful home and I had the pleasure of delivering it yesterday. Such a joy!
07.01.2022 I can't wait for tomorrow when I can get my hands back on my brushes again and splash some paint around! I currently have the (good) problem of not having many completed paintings as they have all been finding loving homes to to go to recently. You never can tell when a piece will find it's perfect home, but when it does it is such a good feeling for all involved. "Be bold" is still searching for it's wall. 85cm x 100cm with more details on my website.... Send me a message if you would like to know more.
07.01.2022 A snippet of a big work in progress. I'm looking forward to this week - school holidays mean slower mornings! There will be time for painting as well as plenty of hanging with friends, baking together, board games and general holiday fun.
07.01.2022 I don't know about you, but I just want something on my wall that makes me feel good when I look at it. After painting the smaller piece I needed to go back to the earlier, larger one and add a few more details. I'm happy now! The only thing left to do is find a new home for them.
06.01.2022 I've been playing with paint all week, trying not to worry about the end result. Just focusing in on the idea of breathing space, both for me in my practice and in work itself. This is where one of the pieces from earlier in the week ended up. It's quite different from other pieces I have been playing with, but they all inform each other. Lots of ideas brewing in the background too. Acrylic on A3 paper. Would love to see her in a frame.
04.01.2022 A little wattley goodness that popped out this week. It offsets the grey skies outside this morning.
04.01.2022 An absolute pleasure to create a meaningful, commissioned gift for a special lady.
01.01.2022 Being trusted to paint something especially for someone's home is a pretty awesome thing. This is one part of a triptych painted for a lovely lady who just happens to have her birthday today. Sending big birthday love your way!
