21.01.2022 There are so many opportunities for glass beyond just windows. This is a great example of how PixaGraphic glass was used to create memorial story boards at the Geelong Vietnam Veterans Memorial Pathway. Take a look: https://www.viridianglass.com//educational-memorial-walkw/

19.01.2022 When vandals destroyed historic stained glass window paintings at a church in Geraldton, it seemed impossible to find someone with the skill to fix them! Vau...ghn Bisschops is one of just a handful of skilled craftsman in Australia in the highly intricate trade of repairing stained glass windows. It's a trade that has barely changed over hundreds of years. "The thing I love about the craft is you can put a modern take on it, but it's a very, very ancient art so it is beautiful in that way," Vaughn said. STORY: ab.co/2ZbcE5m

19.01.2022 Did you know? In 1696 England, William III introduced a window tax. People were required to pay between two and eight shillings a year, depending upon th...e number of windows in their houses, and many bricked over their windows in order to avoid the charge. The tax remained in place for 156 years, with the levy-free window allowance going from 10 to six and then to eight. The tax was finally repealed in 1851. We shouldn't take our right to windows as standard for granted! Source: https://www.thenbs.com//windows-glass-glazing-a-brief-hist

19.01.2022 Having fun with glass, the future of glass is unlimited.

18.01.2022 In 2014 Eco Designer Joost Bakker developed a bushfire resistant home called Kinglake House. It is an amazing house which contains sustainable and safe material...s, a lot of work and thought went into its design. Only recently, Joost together with the CSIRO and Bushfire Building Council of Australia , is making the designs and associated information regarding engineering and materials for this home available free of charge. This is in response to the devastation faced by many in the recent Australian bushfires, he has provided a blueprint to support future rebuilding. We are proud to say Viridian LightBridge double glazing was used in this home as part of a fire rated window system manufactured and produced by Joost's window partners. Photos care of: Joost Bakker

12.01.2022 We love a good glass fact! Did you know the use of glass itself goes back to our earliest history, where obsidian a form of natural glass created by sand me...lting in the intense heat of a volcano and distributed during an eruption was used to make spear tips. We found this fact at The NBS, check out more about the history of glass and windows here: https://www.thenbs.com//windows-glass-glazing-a-brief-hist

11.01.2022 We just love the workmanship on these homes! All three homes are a celebration of the wonder of glass.

10.01.2022 Measure twice cut once they say Makesure you use the same tape measure when you measure and then go to manufacture. You never know what your going to get.

10.01.2022 EXPLODING GLASS - the following link is to a story that has hit media and social media in the last 2 days - http://www.watoday.com.au//he-was-just-screaming-p...erth-mot We would urge our members to spread the message that it is important that consumers make sure that the glass is compliant and is installed by a certified glazier. Share the message as wide and as far as we can about compliancy and standards - this should be the basis of our industry as it is of our Association. It is important to acknowledge that Glass exploding is not always a fault of the glass, it also can be as a result of poor installation. At this stage we cannot be sure why this has occurred. Glass, once toughened does retain some tension and when under pressure can explode. It is important that toughened glass is processed in accordance with the Australia Standards, which is the question about imported glass. Not all imported glass is poor, some of it is produced according to the Australia Standard. Consumers need to look for the toughened stamp on their panels, or question compliance from the installer. Poor edgework or glass shells in the glass panels can contributed to weakening the toughed panel, and if impacted, can explode. Often nickel sulphide inclusions in the glass is blamed for these explosive outcomes, which can be the case although on many occasions it is due to poor installation. To protect consumers they should be asking for compliant products manufactured to Australian Standards and have Certified Installers, carry out the installation. GWAWA Members are obligated under the code of conduct to provide complaint and install product using Certified Installers under the AGGA Accredited Company Program. One of our members, Dial A Glass, after hearing the story has arranged to supply and install a new shower screen

06.01.2022 Another use for glass, love technology, especially with machines.

05.01.2022 We love anything to do with glass and get all sorts of requests for glass work and there is probably nothing we won't have a crack at. We were recommended by a previous customer to reverse the window direction on a houseboat in Mandurah Marina which turned out to be a very enjoyable afternoon.

04.01.2022 Haha, Let us solve your sliding door problems.

04.01.2022 This should not be happening and needs serious consequences, glass is everywhere and we need to trust that its been installed to the Australian Standards.
