20.01.2022 It has been a very long strange year with lots of ups and downs. Our show was cancelled for the first time since the early 1900's. The world went into lock down for the pandemic. Our volunteers got together to celebrate another year on what would have been our show day sharing lots of smiles and laughs. We are looking forward to 2021. We are hoping that the year proves to be less eventful and allow us to hold more events to bring our community together. It is looking like it will be a busy year for the Kelmscott Agricultural Society. With planning already under way for the 2021 show as well as the new Hills Rodeo. On behalf of the Council of Management, Executive and Committee Members, we want to wish you and your family a happy and safe festive season.

18.01.2022 The Kelmscott Agricultural Society is pleased to announce that, in light of the WA Government announcing Phase 4 easing of restrictions, we are now actively planning for and confirming the viability of the 2020 Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show on 16 - 17 October. Throughout the lock down period, our KAS volunteers have been working diligently to ensure that we would be able to hold the Show if and when the restrictions lifted. The safety and well being of our visitors, exhibitors and volunteers has been taken into account with all the planning that has been done and continues to be done. We will take the advice provided by the City of Armadale, Department of Health and other relevant authorities to ensure that we provide a safe event for our community to enjoy.
17.01.2022 On Monday last week, the Government announced that the COVID-19 Phase 4 restrictions were being extended and the Perth Royal Show was cancelled. Since then we have been consulting with the Government, City of Armadale, Health Department, Royal Agricultural Society of WA, other Agricultural Societies, West Australian Showmen’s association, our members, volunteers, Sponsors and the local community to determine if the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show will go ahea...d for 2020. The Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show, staged by the Kelmscott Agricultural Society, a not for profit group made up entirely of volunteers and supported by a team of volunteers, has been a favourite Community Event for over 120 years. The Show has been a main event for the local community to get together socially, for entertainers to perform, for many local businesses, sporting groups and associations to fundraise and raise the awareness of what they do and for the community to enter into competitions showing off their skills in everything from cooking to displaying their cattle and sheep. Due to COVID-19 and the impact it has and is having on our local Community, it is with extreme disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Show for 2020. A significant amount of work had been done by our committee to make the Show as safe as could be in line with all the Government requirements and recommendations, but with the changing landscape of last week we felt that this was the only decision that could be made for our Community. We appreciate that this decision will be a disappointment for many, but we look forward to the Community joining us in the 2021 version of the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show, which we are now turning our attention to. Please hold the Friday 15th and Saturday 16th of October 2021 free in your calendar as we Bring our Community Back Together. In the meantime, please continue to support our Sponsors, donors, local businesses and community groups. Without them, we will not be able to stage this event in the future Should you have any questions or comments, please contact the myself or the Show Manager Daryl Dawes on [email protected]. Vaughan James President Kelmscott Agricultural Society

10.01.2022 The Kelmscott Agricultural Society is aware of the announcement this morning by the RASWA to cancel the 2020 Perth Royal Show. We are saddened by this announcement and like the rest of Perth, we love what the Perth Royal Show brings to our community. We appreciate how difficult this decision must have been for the RASWA. Our Executive Team is presently working through the implications of this announcement on the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Agricultural Show and have reac...hed out to the Government for advice. At this point in time, our Management Committee is still actively planning the event. We would appreciate if people are able to hold back on the queries about the status of our event to allow our volunteers time to work through the process. We will make a further announcement in the coming days once we have more information available. Please keep an eye on our social media for further updates. Please direct any urgent queries to the Show Manager, Daryl Dawes, by emailing [email protected] Thanks Vaughan James President #MakeSmokingHistory
