24.01.2022 PCH DAY!!!! Saturday 23rd November Each year we support Perth Children's Hospital by holding a fundraising day with all funds going to a great cause.... These are some of the things we have planned. Show your little athlete how its done by participating in our parent events. For $5 per event, compete against other participants and our U16/17 athletes. Events can be entered into by not only parents but coaches, officials or anyone that wishes to join in. Events are: 1500m 200m Triple Jump Long Jump Javelin Discus PARENTS ONLY 70m You may choose up to 3 events plus the parent only event. Entry & Waiver forms will be available on Saturday or here: https://drive.google.com/open (Entry Form) https://drive.google.com/open (Waiver) Dress up with your CRAZIEST SOCKS for a gold coin donation. 11.01.2022 Hi everyone, Nathan, BLAC president here, this one is going to be a little long. But please take the time to read it. I would appreciate that. It is about our 5...0th year anniversary celebrations. Our gold anniversary! By this time in the season, most newbies would probably know who I am and hopefully all our multi year parents especially do. You will have probably seen me setting up, packing up, fixing something or the rest of the time sauntering around with my camera trying to capture memories for you of your kids. What some know and many don't, is that once, a life time ago, I was a Belmont Little athlete as well. It was a massive part of my childhood. And a huge chunk of my best memories revolve around Athletics and BLAC in particular. That love of Athletics from childhood never died, it was just put on the back burner for a long time, right up till my kids were old enough to join. I was able to come back! I loved being back, being a parent of children competing. Learning how the other side of aths works, the parts were all the volunteers make it run, week in week out. There are a dedicated bunch of aths crazies that make the centre what it is, a fabulous place for your kids to make memories and hopefully one day in the future, they too will bring their kids back to Gerry Archer to experience the joy of watching their kids compete. Making memories. As the head crazy of the centre sometimes I have so much passion for Athletics and our centre that I am not really on the same level with the rest of our members, a bit out of touch perhaps. And as such I have all these ideas for ways to make the centre the best centre there is. To make our athletes want to come back year after year, to celebrate our 50th birthday in a way never done before. To create memories for our athletes and parents alike. To hold a giant birthday party and make it a gala-ball. Initially I wanted to have the ball AT Gerry Archer, hire a marquee, have it in the centre of the oval, get some amazing catering and entertainment and make it something people would talk about for years. However that quickly became completely cost prohibitive, with tickets to cost hundreds of dollars each to cover costs (which is beyond ridiculous) We don't have any sort of budget for these celebrations (we are an Athletics club, our income should cover Athletics related activities), so they need to pay for themselves. So we moved it next door to the Belmont sports and recreation club, reducing the cost by about $10k They have a fantastic facility there, nice, air-conditioned function room that can handle 250 guest with bar facilities and all the amenities we would need to hold a ball. I got told that if we were having a ball for the older athletes and parents that we needed to do something for our younger athletes, so we decided to do a disco for them. All On the same day, same decorations, same everything to try and keep costs as low as possible. So we finally come to the point of this long winded drivel of mine. We thought the ball would be popular (maybe this is the part where I am out of touch), we thought the disco would be popular. But so far neither of them have been, we were hoping for around 200 at the ball, we need about that for it to not cost the centre any of its money. So far 13 people have bought tickets for the ball and 7 for the disco, and when I went a spoke to the older athletes on Saturday about it many of them never even knew anything about it. I know the ball is at a bad time of year, it was the only time to hold it, it can't be on a day we have competition, can't be before the season or after the season, so that leaves 3 weekends of the season free. That's why we gave everyone plenty of notice so you could prioritise this once of a lifetime event over others. We know it seems expensive. However for roast meal, salads and dessert, plus drinks, plus birthday cake, plus chocolate/lolly bar, photo booth, music/dancing, with 200 people sharing the costs it just covers costs. We know that the dress code seems high. But we wanted it to be something special, not just a birthday party, but a Ball, something the kids could look forward to, something to dress up to go to, something to create memories at. But it would seem that they don't even know about it. So if you were going to buy tickets you will need to do it by Saturday, if we don't get another hundred or so people going, and that is to both, disco and ball we will have to cancel them both. Memories, it's a bit of a theme for me. So come join me in helping our athletes make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Take your kids to the disco/Ball. Come along on your own, and enjoy a fantastic night of food and fun. Athletics people are the best people, Cheers A always optimistic Nathan

10.01.2022 Belmont uniforms are required for ALL athletes competing at State Events as follows: Your athlete will need one if they are competing at the State Combined Even...t, if they are U9-U15 and are competing at Zones or are U16/U17 competing at States. Uniforms will be available from the clubrooms this Saturday 25th Jan, between 4.30 & 5.30pm. If you require a uniform please don't leave your purchase to the last minute. Singlets $30 T-shirts $35 Cash & Eftpos accepted. We also have Jackets available if you would like one, for $60.

Taking place at Gerry Archer Athletics Track, Cloverdale. Registration: New members are offered 2 free trials before they register. Registration is completed online and will open on Saturday 5th September at 8am for new members. Returning members will be contacted by the club and can register early from Saturday 29th August. More info about how to register will be provided soon. Kidsport: If you will be using Kidsport funding towards payment of fess please apply as soon as possible as you will need the verification code to register online. Parent Roster: Parental assistance is a requirement of enrolment in Little Athletics, in order to ensure both the safety and enjoyment of our athletes. This normally takes the form of helping to run a site on our competition days at Gerry Archer. No experience is necessary and its a great way to find out what our athletes are doing. It can be as simple as raking a sand pit or collecting shotputs. Parental help is organised through a weekly roster which is usually arranged a couple of weeks in advance. Each family is rostered evenly throughout the season. The number of times each family must complete a roster depends on how many registered athletes we have. 07.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT*** REGISTRATION INFORMATION Registrations open for new members tomorrow, Saturday 5th September from 8am. RETURNING athletes may also register if they have not already done so.... If you have already attended training this week and would like to join us for the season, please register using the link at the bottom of this post. If you wish to use KIDSPORT funding towards your fees you MUST apply and have received your voucher code BEFORE registering. Voucher Codes and the amount of funding is required to be entered during the registration process. To register using your KIDSPORT code, select 'voucher' under the payment methods tab. This will enable you to enter the Kidsport voucher code and amount. It will then allow you to pay the balance of your fees. If you have any issue registering, please come and speak to us at training. We would recommend only registering if you have attended training (remember 2 free trials available), agree to commit to the parent roster requirements for competition days and have spoken to us about any questions or concerns you may have. 02.01.2022 KIDSPORT INFORMATION This season, if you are using KIDSPORT funding to part pay your registration fees you MUST apply and have received your voucher code BEFORE you can register online. There will be an option for you to select 'VOUCHER' and enter your Kidsport code during the online registration process as you will no longer be able to choose the cash option if using Kidsport as done in previous years.... If you already know that you will be registering with us for the upcoming 2020/21 season, I STRONGLY SUGGEST you apply for KIDSPORT FUNDING at your earliest convenience so your Kidsport is approved promptly so you don't miss the first competition day (TBC, but usually the 1st or 2nd week of October) Please note: Kidsport can take up to 10 days to be approved and for you to receive your voucher code.
