24.01.2022 Happy holidays to all of our friends and followers. While this is often a time for indulging and treating ourselves, please remember that many of our holiday treats have the potential to be harmful or even fatal for our canine friends. Not only shouldn't you feed your dogs these things, be careful about them being left within reach of a stealthy or not-so-stealthy dog. With so much chocolate around, it is often left in bowls and centrepieces, killing many dogs each year. Likewise cooked bones are often snaffled from the kitchen bench while loving but sated humans are sleeping off food comas. Take care of everyone this holiday season!

24.01.2022 Our huge-hearted crazy kid Charlie has finally found his forever family! It took over six months and a huge team effort, but it was so worth it! Charlie has scored himself a 12 acre bush home in central Victoria with three dams for swimming (his favourite!) and a gorgeous red koolie fur-sister Rosie, who not only matches his play drive, but actually gives him a run for his money. With fabulous humans Marita and Barb who adore his exuberance and are also experienced and able to provide the stability and structure he desperately needs, Charlie is going to have an amazing life. We miss him to bits, but couldn't be happier for him and his new family! Love you Charlie!

21.01.2022 Ever been to the Australian Kelpie Muster in Casterton VIC? If not, take a look at this great montage from Powerhouse Productions, which shows these extraordinary dogs at work and play. Thanks to Canine Ascension, for bringing this little video to our attention. For those of our followers who are raw feeders or may have an interest in moving to raw but don't know where to start, check out Canine Ascension's Facebook page as well as sister group Raw Feeding University. Great resources there!

18.01.2022 Would the lovely Rebecca, who very kindly donated $60 via direct deposit a few days ago, please send us a private message so we can send you a receipt? This is what it looks like when we've exhausted all other options for finding you. Thanks so much!

11.01.2022 Hi again! Remember me? I'm Charlie! I'm having the time of my life in foster care at the beach. But I know my forever home is out there somewhere. I'm a happy playful 16 month old kelpie x boy who is looking for another dog and an experienced home with humans who will enjoy reinforcing my training and helping me maintain focus when I get excited BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS SO FUN!!! I must be the luckiest dude in the world with so many people caring about me and getting me this far. If you are looking for an absolute best mate and can be a bit patient while I settle in, you'll win the goofball happy jackpot with me as my forever home. Go to www.ttkr.com.au/adopt where you can click through to my full profile on Pet Rescue and apply to adopt me!

10.01.2022 What a difference a year makes! You might remember Trav came to us having never really seen outside his backyard for his first few years of life, challenged by almost everything and in need of a home that would help him build confidence to match his huge, loyal heart. Thanks to James, Paul and fur-sister Ruby Trav is now a goofy, happy and confident boy who, in James' words, they just "mega love". They continue to invest in training to help Trav overcome the last vest...iges of his reactivity, but he's now confidently interacting with most dogs and having a great time out there in the big wide world! Except for the time he got bitten by the snake and needed round-the-clock care to save his life, but even then James and Paul were by his side every step of the way. We cannot commend this amazing family enough for the dedication and love they've shown Trav. You guys are what motivates us to do what we do. xxx

06.01.2022 With an unprecedented storm event set to hit most of Victoria over the next three days, please remember to prepare in advance for your dog's safety. Dogs can smell and sense storm activity before you can, and huge numbers of dogs escape and are impounded, lost or killed during events like these. Working breed dogs are especially storm-sensitive. Keep your dog(s) indoors wherever possible and use masking noise if your dog is phobic. Take a look at https://piaa.net.au/handling-dogs-thunderstorm-phobia/ for more great tips. Please, friends, keep yourselves and your dogs safe this weekend!

05.01.2022 Hello everyone, meet Jasper! He is two years old and arrived into care last week. Jasper is an absolute delight. He was purchased as a worker, but he was too dreamy and couldn't stay on the farm. Luckily he has a great pet temperament. He's a social, honest and very affectionate dog and we'll be looking for an experienced home that will value Jasper's beautiful temperament but understand the importance of keeping him very engaged and stimulated. Watch this space! And if you think you may be interested, feel free to head to www.ttkr.com.au/adopt and submit an adoption application in advance as an expression of interest.

02.01.2022 Our beautiful Jasper has found his forever home! He's now living an active and sporty life with Hugh, Kellie and their gorgeous family in Ballarat, with plenty of beach sojourns thrown in for good measure. He's made friends with every dog in town, but no doubt his favourite thing, as we always knew it would be, is time with his fab humans. We knew the second we saw this application that it was the one we'd been waiting for, and it's pretty clear Jasper agrees. We miss him to bits around here, but we couldn't be happier for him and his new forever family. Happiest of happy endings for this absolutely gorgeous dog.
