18.01.2022 A huge thank you for the ABS Business Sales Melbourne Cup luncheon. Thank you Ken Allsop and especially Helen Gordon who always does an absolutely amazing job of organising events. A special mention to Ruby Tuesday Sutton & Jodie-Lee Phillips for assisting Helen. Even though I had a massive headache & my eye was extremely sensitive from the operation performed 24hrs prior, I was there and it was a terrific event, I especially loved the seafood. The superb alcoholic beverages were of no interest to me. Unfortunately there was a huge disappointment for me. I did not win the best dressed male I’m sitting here with Ruby attempting to console me.

16.01.2022 HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I put in nearly three months of long hours, sorting out issues, details, negotiating with a buyer. The other afternoon, he contacted me to sort out a couple of details and advised me that he was ready to make a firm offer, an offer that would be acceptable to my clients. He advised me that I would receive the email in the evening. I contacted my clients with the good news. To my huge shock and disappointment, I was informed that they had decided to withdraw their business from the market. These clients are fantastic people and I was really looking forward to assisting them sell their business. I guess we always have to look for the Silver Lining. Well the attached text was just that. I really appreciated their kind words.

15.01.2022 I’m thrilled to announce that in a very large business brokerage agency, ABS Business Sales, I was responsible for 20% of businesses listed for sale in 2020. What makes this achievement even more momentous is the fact that it is only my first full year in Brisbane and with ABS Business Sales. Not being from Brisbane has been and still is a huge hurdle for me to overcome. Basically having absolutely no contacts and less than a handful of friends in Queensland has made it a real challenge to achieve the results of the past year. I’m grateful for the support that I have received from my colleagues and the assistance from our agency’s management staff. I wonder what the results might have been without Covid-19 as I signed up all of my listings within a period of six months. I’m looking forward to 2021 being a very successful year.

10.01.2022 Time to say goodbye to 2020. Without a doubt a completely unprecedent year. Covid-19 took everyone by surprise, it was impossible for anyone to accurately predict the impact it was going to have on our world. Now with a vaccine available and hopefully not too far away for all, the world will be able to return to the new normal. Personally, I believe that the financial impact is going to be felt for a long time to come. In my sector of the business world, every business brok...er that I have conferred with, agrees that 2020 was by far the worst year that they have ever experienced. Having said that, the future for us in Australia is looking good. As business brokers, we have noticed the confidence has definitely returned with potential buyers. That’s great news for business owners wanting to sell. With my love of horse racing, I thought I’d wish you all and your loved ones a very Happy and Safe Festive Season with an appropriate image. 06.01.2022 Happy Birthday Maman . Today is my late Mum’s birthday. We lost her 17 years ago. I was very close to Maman & we had a great relationship. Just before she passed away, I named a filly after her, Gothic Marian. She told me that, it was the nicest thing anyone had ever done & gave me the biggest hug ever. Unfortunately Maman passed away a couple of months later & never saw the filly. Due to injuries, the filly didn’t realise her full potential, but was placed in an Oaks & won 3 races including the Leilani Classic @ Moonee Valley.
