22.01.2022 On my recent trip to Sydney, I was reading a great article by Deborah Hutton in the in-flight magazine. She was talking about how we need to find a balance between the digital world and the real world. She uses the triple-A approach - Acceptance - accept things for what they are. Social media is not reality. Your real life values and actions determine who you are. Authenticity - stop pretending and be real about who we are Attention - pay attention to the person in front of ...you and the people in our real life rather than those on our phone. What a great philosophy. By finding balance in our day to day life, we will be able to ignore the nay-sayers, reward the good and celebrate the wins. 19.01.2022 What do I want to be when I grow up? There are now so many options in life that it can be confusing. I would like to say that you can do and be anything you wan...t to be. The career choices that are on offer to you are countless. There are also lots of tools that can help you to work out what you want to do including many online websites that will help you make your decision easier. There are career advisors at your school but there are also recruitment companies that can guide you. The sky is the limit; dont let anything or anyone stop you from being what you want to be. Reach for the stars and you never know where you may land. Put together a plan so that you can achieve what you want. You may need to do some extra courses. It is not going to be easy, nothing worth doing is easy. But with some hard work and discipline, you can achieve just about anything. Have faith in yourself and be confident.

12.01.2022 Im very excited to be able to announce that I am a finalist in two categories for the Stevie Business Awards: - Female Solo Entrepreneur of the Year - Startup of the Year - Business Services Industries... The winner of the Gold, Silver or Bronze will be announced at a gala dinner in New York on the 17th November. The past twelve months have been a fantastic experience, and I couldnt have done it without the support of my family, friends and clients. Thank you for making this possible. I feel like I have just scratched the surface in what I want to achieve with my writing and training. This accomplishment has come as a shock to me as I didnt think it would happen. As they log in to the relevant website, they will find out they have achieved the mark they need to get into their chosen university course. There will be celebrations among their family and friends. To these students, I would like to say well done and congratulations. Your hard work has paid off. But, most students will be disappointed. They will be finding out they didnt get what they needed.... They will find out that their chosen career path has been thwarted because of their result. If this is you, then understand that you are not on your own. There are others just like you who are disappointed too. But, this is just a speed bump not a dead end. I started my business in September 2016 and work every day on building a strong business and learning new skills I can implement into my business. But, there are days when it seems two steps forward and one step back. Days when I am overwhelmed with doing it all myself and just wanting someone else to do the bookkeeping or the marketing or to bounce ideas off. I love what I do every single day, but this is the hardest thing I ha...ve ever done. Like other small business owners, I started my business because I am passionate about what I do. I didnt want to continue working as an employee and give my skills away for less than they were worth. I wanted to make a difference in my life and also the lives and businesses of my clients. What gets me through the tough times is my incredible network of other small business owners and the support that I get from them.
