24.01.2022 As many of you will already know there is construction on the course which is blocking the Ashgrove end of the Kelvin Grove course. We have been working hard on a new course which we think will be great. This alternative course has been approved by parkrun but also needs to be approved by Brisbane City Council as the landowners. Paperwork has been submitted however, if approval isn't received in time for Saturday's event we will have to cancel. We will let you know as soon as we hear anything back and hopefully we will see you on Saturday.
24.01.2022 Well done to the 173 people that in the hot muggy conditions; ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 20 were first timers and 18 recorded new Personal Bests. As always the event was only made possible by 12 volunteers: Neil Philip James Janita Matt Nigel Avril Russel Sophie Thomas Lucia Meaghan ... Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Kelvin Grove parkrun Results Page. Also the volunteer roster is up there as well, we still have only had about 10% of the 3,365 total participants at KG ever volunteer. Please consider volunteering sometime this year. Also a reminder that junior parkrun is coming this year to Ashgrove we will keep you informed of the details. we know its on a Sunday at Dorrington park is a 2km and a cross country course.
23.01.2022 Only two more sleeps!!!! Saturday is fast approaching and we are looking for a few volunteers. It would be great to have another barcode scanner, perhaps even one of our early finishers could help out just in the busy time. Barcode scanners now use their own phone with the Virtual Volunteer app making the process super simple and easy to help out for a short period of time. A photographer would also be great to record KG's return!
23.01.2022 Good morning! It is going to be warm this morning so please stay hydrated. There are plenty of bubblers to stop for a drink on our course so please use them and please remember the COVID code.

22.01.2022 Part of the Qld government conditions for parkrun reopening, was that each event has a QR sign in code for contract tracing. This code will be displayed at the event, but to help avoid queues and maximise social distancing, we encourage users to sign in from their phone or computer before arriving at the venue or after their run. For users who cannot scan a QR code, you also use the link https://www.parkrun.com/trace/74w Remember, this is only for Kelvin Grove parkrun, other events have their own codes.
21.01.2022 parkrun Australia COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update: 5 November QLD_reopen Following extensive discussions with the Queensland Department of Sport and Recreation, we have approval to reopen all parkrun events in Queensland on 28 November.... When events reopen in Queensland they will each be required to display a unique QR code for contact tracing purposes and we will be strongly encouraging all participants to sign in. This system currently exists for parkruns in New Zealand and the ACT and is working effectively.

16.01.2022 A bit of information overload but one more post before tomorrow morning. As many of you may have seen Brisbane City Council have marked out our parkrun. 12.01.2022 As most of you are aware, there are works happening at the 1.5km turn around and we've changed the course a bit to accommodate this. Please, please please keep to the left - especially when crossing the bridge. This is very important!! We share the path with other users, so please be courteous and mindful when you are running or walking. Thank you for your patience with this.

07.01.2022 Good evening parkrunners. parkrun Australia has requested that events do not cancel due to COVID-19 because doing so may overwhelm other nearby teams with an influx of participants, and increase the amount of travel as parkrunners attend other events. On that basis we are holding Kelvin Grove parkrun tomorrow on our adjusted course. However, we would ask you all to be careful, and to avoid running, walking or volunteering if you have flu-like symptoms, and please be mindful o...f the more vulnerable members of our community. Look out for each other.
