25.01.2022 To our shooting friends, just an update to what is happening at Kempsey. The committee held a meeting last Saturday and after lots of discussions, ideas and obviously worry, we have decided to not re-commence shooting as yet. We hope you don't hold this decision against us but it is such an unknown world out there at the moment. Some might not agree but for the safety of all, we thought the safest way was to stay away. The committee have planned another meeting in early A...ugust 2020 and will discuss what is happening then. Stay safe everyone!

22.01.2022 Hello everyone, well what can we say, the weather is atrocious at the moment and doesn't look like it is going to get any better in the near future. Just saw the weather on NBN and Kempsey is going to be hit tomorrow (Friday) and more than likely still raining on Saturday, shoot day. The committee is considering what to do and we will let you all know tomorrow what we have decided but it doesn't look favourable at the moment. Please take care everyone and we will let you know about the shoot. On another note: Ted had his surgery at John Hunter Hospital on Monday, unfortunately, at the moment, more downs than ups. He hates hospital and the Dr's are trying to get his pain under control.

22.01.2022 To all our shooting friends. Kempsey CTC will be shooting this Saturday, 21st March 2020 commencing at 12.00 noon. We have looked at the guidelines from the Government and Medical Professionals and believe it is safe for us to go ahead. Obviously we understand if you need to stay away and if you are feeling unwell in any way, please stay away, but only for now. ... Our program will be, 25T DB CD; 25T PS CD & 50T DB Cont Club C'ship. We will also post an update regarding practice days after the weekend. Stay safe everyone

21.01.2022 To all our shooting friends. After consultation with four committee members during our March 2020 monthly shoot, it is with regret we advise you we have decided to cancel all practice shooting at Kempsey Clay Target Club until further notice. This decision is made to limit exposure and protect shooters during the current medical Pandemic.... At this stage our monthly competition shoots will still be held until advice from the Government and/or Sporting Associations advise clubs to close. Stay safe everyone.

20.01.2022 Well another successful shoot for Kempsey Clay Target Club on Saturday 18th January 2020. The reason I say it was successful, a great day was held by all and it rained, and I mean rained. Firstly for those that attended and participated in the rain, Kempsey thanks you. I didn't hear a complaint and we all know how much the rain was and still is needed. Two major events were held on the day. The first event being the Redpoint 100. This event has 50 targets of DB and 50... targets of PS and is sponsored by local business RedPoint Wholesale and Retail Distributor. For all your battery, oils and filters, contact RedPoint on 02 65626650. The second event was the postponed Len & Lil Baker Deauville Doubles Memorial in conjunction with the Northern Zone C'ship. This event is sponsored by Ted Baker and family together with Jason & Darren Jenkins and their family's, descendants of Len & Lil Baker. The event has been running for over 20 years. All shooters were drenched, but none the less, some great shooting was on display and great shooting will obviously lead to great winners. The overall winner of the first event was none other than the sponsor, Brad Hooper of RedPoint. Brad scoring 190/200 and considering the weather, was a worthy result. Did I tell you it rained and it was torrential at times. Oh and by the way, Brad was happy it rained for his farm. Other winners were Romeo Spagnolo and Ross Aston in AA Grade, Kerry Miller and Jason Jenkins in A Grade, John O'Gorman and Renae Jenkins in B Grade a with Dean Penfold and Dick Piper taking out C Grade. Congratulations to you all. The second event saw 8 teams via for the prizes. Brad Hooper teamed with another local Ben Tyson, to take out the DD event with 20/20. Good job guys! Congratulations also to Renae Jenkins and Brad Baker who took our 2nd place and Greg Lancaster teaming with Dean Penfold to take out 3rd place. For those that know clay target shooting, we also have a High Gun award for the month. The winner being Brad Hooper, good on you Brad! There is one shooter who might say he should have gotten the high gun award, aye Ben. Why, because Brad had to borrow Ben's gun to shoot for most of the day. Once again, thank you to those that attended on such a rainy day but what good rain it was! Hope to see you all next month.

19.01.2022 Hi everyone. Further to our previous post, advice from NSW Clay Target Association recommends the suspension of all clay target shooting. Obviously this is sad news to us all but considering the health and safety of our members and our visitors/friends, something we need accept. So, until who knows when, Kempsey Clay Target Club range will be closed and we will let you all know when shooting recommences.... Fingers crossed for this damn this to go away quickly but in the mean time, stay safe everyone.

18.01.2022 Hi everyone, just a reminder that our club will be open this Saturday 15 August 2020 for a practice shoot only @ 1.00 pm. It will be an organised practice, I will squad shooters as I do for a normal shoot. We hope our friends can understand why we are only doing practice at this stage. We are all experiencing times that are so new to everyone and the club committee just wanted to start with a practice, get a handle on the hand hygiene, physical distance and all that comes wit...h taking care of everyone who visits our grounds during Covid-19. For those who normally visit us but who might come from a Covid high risk area, please don't be offended if we suggest you stay away, for now, we mean this in the nicest way. Just being careful! For those who would like to come for a shoot, our practice rounds are $8.00 for 25 targets. Due to not having any EFTPOS facility, it would be appreciated if you could try to bring the correct money for how many rounds you would like to have. Just trying to limit the handling of money, hand hygiene and all that as well. A reminder also, we will have drinks available to purchase but bring your own snacks. Take care everyone!

09.01.2022 To our shooting friends, the club committee met yesterday to discuss the re-commencement of shooting at Kempsey. The good news, we will be shooting on Saturday, 15 August 2020 @ 1.00 pm. The bad news, it will be PRACTICE ONLY. The office will be open so we will shoot in normal squad format but on the layouts we will shoot 5 per lane with a Marshall/Referee advising when to move to the next lay. This will ensure physical distance rules are met as per NSW Government Rules. A...s well as physical distance, we will also be following good hand hygiene practices. No sharing or holding of guns. Wipes will also be available. The committee will have another meeting to discuss the re-commencement of our full program after the practice day. As the club has no EFTpost facilities, it would be appreciated if you could try to bring the correct payment for the number of rounds you might like, $8.00 per round of 25 targets. The canteen will not be open so bring your own snacks, drinks will be available. We know is has been a long road and who knows where it will end. Be safe everyone. Saturday, 15 August 2020 @ 1.00 pm

08.01.2022 Hello shooting friends. Just a reminder that Kempsey club will be holding a competition shoot this Saturday 19 September 2020 commencing at 12.00 pm. Unfortunately, the rule from Sport NSW still applies for no visiting shooters from a metropolitan area to a rural area, so once again I need to apologise on behalf of our club when we ask you to STAY AWAY if that rule affects you. We also ask if you or anyone close to you who might have come in contact with an infected person, ...stay away; if you have been tested yourself within the last 14 day or if you are feeling unwell in any way, sorry but please STAY AWAY. Our program will be cash divide events only, 25T DB, 50T PS and 20Pr DR. Hand sanitiser, wipes, gloves etc. will be provided and will still ask everyone to comply with the 1.5 metre physical distance rule. You will also be required to complete the Covid-19 attendance list. There will be limited canteen available. Stay safe everyone.
