20.01.2022 MEDICAL EVACUATION | An exceptional multi-agency effort to transport an elderly lady with a broken hip to safety. NSW SES captained the boat to dry land in Kempsey, where our flood rescue crew was able to carefully lift her to the awaiting NSW Ambulance where paramedics took over.

19.01.2022 Our RFS, NPWS and FRNSW crews are busy today undertaking property protection in several locations north of the Kempsey-Armidale Road. Yesterday they were quick... to protect Slim Dusty's boyhood home on Nulla Nulla Creek Road, 50km west of Kempsey. Heavy machinery was used to place a firebreak around the cottage and crews made sure the fire didn't get close enough to threaten this popular attraction - the birthplace of Australian country music. 16.01.2022 At 8am yesterday (Sunday 11th August) 4 firefighters from Wangi were tasked as part of a strike team to travel to Kempsey and assist with the devastating winter... bushfires in the area. It was a a hectic first day with the crew working hard on an out of control bushfire, a house fire followed by a late night creating containment lines through strategic burning. This is another example of how Wangi firefighters and FRNSW are ready to help anyone anytime. Kempsey Fire and Rescue - 345 Station See more

15.01.2022 It might still be winter, but weve already seen more than 50 bushfires during August in New South Wales, due to dry conditions This video shows how devastat...ing a wind change can be during a bushfire, so take particular care on windy days. Today the Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook was released, showing above normal fire potential for areas mainly on and east of the Great Dividing Range, and also for parts of southern Australia and eastern Tasmania. 07.01.2022 In the last 24 hours, 8.64 MILLION litres of flood water has been removed from the storm water drains of Kempsey and returned via 200 metres of 150mm hose to th...e Macleay River using the Fire and Rescue NSW Bulk Water Transfer System (Hytrans). The Hytrans has been moving roughly 6,000 litres of water a minute and is crewed by two on-call Hytrans Specialists from ATU. The local FRNSW crew, 345 Kempsey, have been fantastic as they assisted with the set up and the overnight monitoring of the appliance during this period. #preparedforanything

02.01.2022 Macleay Floods 2021

02.01.2022 In the Thrumster area, west of Port Macquarie.

01.01.2022 345 Station Operations during Macleay Floods 2021. Over the past several days Kempsey Fire and Rescue have been kept busy responding to flood related incidents, aswell as our usual emergency incidents. Some of the notable incidents include people trapped in their homes and cars by flood water, landslide and a motor vehicle accident last night. We have been fortunate enough to have the assistance of specialist swift water rescue technicians from Fire and Rescue NSW strike tea...m Zulu. We have had crews maintaining coverage throughout our shire and assisting our fellow Emergency Service Organisations including a crew stationed in Frederickton. We would like to thank Macleay Valley Village and Macleay Valley House for providing our crews with accommodation and a place to base our response from for Frederickton and the surrounding communities. We would also like to thank the community of Sherwood who provided accommodation and food to one of our crews after they were cut off by flood water after completing a flood rescue in Wittitrin on Friday Afternoon. At this time we would like to remind everyone that for their own safety and that of Emergency Services that motorists are urged to avoid any unnecessary travel and not to drive through flood waters. Boating in these conditions is not advised as well. From the crew at 345 Station Kempsey, please stay safe.
