17.01.2022 REVELATION : Chapter 1 Verse 3 Verse 3: Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which... are written in it; for the time is near. Let us meditate on verse 3 by segregating the verse into three parts. 1.Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy Revelation chapter 1 verse 3 , begins with a benediction - Blessed" - which no other book in the bible offers us. Why is it so that no other book in the bible gives this blessing? Because, it is this book which reveals unto us those Revelations, knowledge and understanding of God, hidden from ancient times by making us a partaker of the divine mysteries. This verse also constitutes first of 7 Beatitudes of Book REVELATION Revelation 14:13: Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them. Revelation 16:15: Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame. Revelation 19:9: Then he said to me, Write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb! And he said to me, These are the true sayings of God. Revelation 20:6: Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Revelation 22:7: Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book. Jesus also spoke of 9 Beatitudes in His Sermon on the Mount Matthew 5:3-11 However, blessings of Revelation 1:3 is extraordinary - why? The Lord Jesus Christ pronounces blessings on the person (He) who reads and as well on all the people (those) who hear the words of this prophecy. If you observe the word He & Those in verse 3. He refers to a singular person who not only reads for himself but also reads aloud to others, and the word Those in plural refers to the church or a group of people gathered together to hear the person reading aloud. Interestingly, the Lord Jesus didn’t say that a person must understand the Book to receive blessings, but if he" or a group of people read or hear is enough. And as you keep reading and hearing the book, God will impart his wisdom and understanding to all of us and thereafter we can prepare ourselves for the tribulations that are ahead and remain faithful until the coming of the Lord. 2. and keep those things which are written in it; Also it is required for us to keep all the things that are written in the book to receive blessings. Revelation 1:3b (Amplified version) says: who keep themselves true to the things which are written in it [heeding them and laying them to heart], for the time [for them to be fulfilled] is near. Greek tereo means to keep, watch, to guard or to note. It also means to keep an eye for its happenings & fulfilments. Jesus Christ also explains us through parable, in Matthew 24:32-33, how to keep an eye on the happenings around us to be able to interpret whether we are at the period of end times or not. Matthew 24:32-33: Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near - at the doors! 3. for the time is near. Time is near or time is at hand is translated as "the right time" according to the Ancient Greek word, Kairos which varyingly refers to an "opportune presentation" in rhetoric. Paul Tillich‘s, an American German Christian philosopher, in his Interpretation of History (1936), discusses kairos as God‘s time and the fullness time. Tillich‘s concept Kairos is mostly based on the term‘s frequently used in the New Testament of the Christian Bible for - an appointed time God had chosen for something to occur. (Mark 1:14-15, Luke 12:54-56, Luke 19:44, Romans 13:11-13, 2 Corinthians 6:1-2) Daniel chapter 11, also provides a very long and detailed prophecy of events that would occur from the time of the Medo-Persian Empire through the end time. Verse 40 speaks of the end times in future - when the king of the South will attack the king of the North. And In Verse 41, we see, the latter will enter the Glorious Land (the Holy Land) and overthrow many of the surrounding countries. But the event doesn‘t necessarily to be occurred immediately.

06.01.2022 Did you know, the song "It Is Well With My Soul" was written by a successful Christian lawyer Heratio Spafford. His only son died at age 4 in 1871. In 1872, the... great Chicago fire wiped out his vast estate, made from a successful legal career. In 1873 he sent his wife and four daughters over to Europe on a summer trip on the ill fated SS Ville du Havre. Since he had a lot of work to do, he planned to follow them later. The ship sank and he lost his four daughters with the wife being the only survivor. She sent him a famous telegram which simply read, "SAVED ALONE......" On his return home, his Law firm was burned down and the insurance company refused to pay him. They said, iIt's an act of God." He had no money to pay for his house and no work, he also lost his house. Then while sitting and thinking what's happening to him, being a spiritual person, he wrote a song - "Whatever, my Lord, You have taught me to say - It is well, it is well with my soul." My dear friend, a good attitude will determine your altitude. When you look at your life, career, job or family life, what do you say? Do you praise God? Do you blame the devil? A good attitude towards God makes Him move on your behalf. Just sit down and say, "Today, God, it is well with my soul, I am thankful I had a peaceful sleep, I am thankful I am alive with possibilities, I am thankful I have a roof over me, I am thankful I have a job, I am thankful that I have family and friends. Above all, I am thankful that I have the Lord Jesus Christ on my side." Be blessed and don't be envious or shocked when others are prospering because you don't know what they have been through to get there (test, trials and tribulation) so thank God for what you have. "Little is much when God is in it. It is well With my soul!" Touch someone's life with this message. If God is for us, who can be against us? God bless y'all and have a good evening See more
