24.01.2022 Asana: Camel pose Sanskrit name: Ustrasana *Knees and feet hip width apart. Bring the pelvis directly over the hips. Rotate shoulder back and down to lengthen the spine and open the heart, draw chin slightly towards the chest to lengthen back of neck. Note: Bring the direction of the body up, lengthening the body towards the sky, before thinking about going back to keep the spine long. * Place the palm flat on the lower part of the back INHALE draw the elbows together, ope...ning the chest. Gently push the tailbone forward with the hands as you bend backwards, INHALE-EXHALE, when you feel secure in the position lean back and find the heels underneath the hands. INHALE and take 3 to 5 breaths. When coming up, twist to one side bringing one hand forward and curling the chin towards the chest. Bring the other hand on the lower back if you need a little support to come out of the pose. Benefits: Stretches chess, abdomen, quadriceps and hip flexors. Improves spinal flexibility. Strengthen shoulders and back muscles, thighs and arms. Tones organs of abdomen, pelvis and neck. Reduces fat on thighs. Loosens up the vertebrae. Opens up the hips. Improves posture. Increases energy levels. Lower blood pressure. Detox the body. Contraindications/Cautions: Do not force your body into the camel pose before it is flexible enough to do so without training.
