24.01.2022 We are delighted to welcome our new counselling psychologist Monica Hill to our practice. Monica is a Counselling Psychologist who works with clients across the lifespan. She is a compassionate and experienced psychologist, an excellent listener and she strives to empower her clients in finding solutions. Monica assists her clients to better manage the personal and professional emotional challenges that present themselves in all our lives from time to time. Monica has a pract...ical and client-centred approach and is skilled in the principles of mindfulness-based cognitive behaviour therapy. She brings a warmth and empathy for those with whom she works, is able to listen attentively and reach the heart of the matter in a timely fashion, and provide sound guidance and support in client recovery. Monica’s career of over 20 years has seen her work in a number of senior roles within the field of psychology and the education sector, helping to foster smoother relationships between people, providing therapy for stress, anxiety, depression and other challenges, and fostering well-being. As an accredited supervisor, she also provides mentoring and supervision of other practitioners and advice to senior managers. Professor Russell is friendly and easy to talk to. His illustrious career includes - Director of Clinical Programs (Psychology), Head of the Psychology Department and Associate Dean of Psychology at different universities in Australia and Singapore. He has also practised at the Flinders Medical Centre Pain Management Unit and in private practice in Adelaide for many years.

Rachel Armstrong is an experienced psychologist of sixteen years and brings an authentic, warm and practical approach to her practice. She combines her passion for mindfulness, resilience and positive psychology with evidence-based tools to help people flourish, a process that she sees as unique for each person. She believes that difficult experiences can lead to growth, strength, and greater connection with others und...er the right conditions. She is experienced in working with PTSD and trauma (including early life and complex trauma), stress, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal challenges. Mindfulness-based strategies are key tools used to enhance relaxation, reduce stress, and help manage chronic physical or emotional pain. Practicing since 2004, Rachel has worked with government, private industry, and private psychology practices in a range of settings which have cultivated a broad skill set and knowledge. Ongoing learning and compassion are strong values which, together, allow her to be effective as both a listener and a guide. Rachel is skilled in Mindfulness including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR).
