24.01.2022 Can you help? The new owners of 61-63 High Street have been researching the history of their heritage home, and wonder if anyone has any early photos which include the Residence & attached Butcher shop (corner of Bridge & High Streets). The bluestone building was built for the Hughes family in 1873 and they owned the residence & shop for over 100 years. It was redeveloped sometime in the 1980s and the shop split off into a second cottage. The owners have gained extensive knowledge of the Hughes family (courtesy of local historian Denise Schuman) but have not been able to find any old photos showing the building. Any photos or info is very much appreciated via this Facebook page.

23.01.2022 The Angled Satin Moth. Found in Borthwick Park! Our major annual planting day is coming up on Sunday July 5th. Please join us for a great morning of planting followed by lunch.

21.01.2022 Have you seen this dog?

21.01.2022 What about getting out of the house for some exercise? Thanks to Council, we have plenty of mulch to spread! If you are self-isolating, how about taking a break and spreading some mulch for an hour to help our local park along? The mulch is essential to suppress the winter weeds that will start popping up soon. Get out and exercise in the fresh air on your own or with your kids or other household members. Working in the garden or the park is hugely beneficial for our sense o...f well-being. And its easy to maintain distance from others. If you can find some time over the coming weeks please call me on 0422 909 710, message me or email [email protected]. I will show you exactly where we need the mulch spread, while observing social distancing protocols. Lets keep moving and helping our community! We have a wheelbarrow you can borrow. Youll need at least a spade or shovel, a bucket and a rake. I can lend you these items but please bring your own gloves. Many thanks, John Legg PS; other jobs available too on request.

16.01.2022 Nobody wants to weed! Community event. Where? Borthwick Park, Kensington When? Sunday 25th October. 9am onwards. Morning tea and finish at 11am.... Why? Weeds can crowd out our young plants and destroy native plant communities. With our recent Spring rain, weeds are loving it! It is vital we keep weeds under control to keep our natives thriving. What will we be doing? Pulling kikuyu, mulching and pruning. There are also ten big holes to dig for relocated signage for the younger and fitter of us. and food? As always, a yummy morning tea awaits us and opportunities to chat and socialise while being COVID safe. Bring your favourite weeding tool and a barrow, bucket or spade if you have one. But especially bring yourself! Ask a friend or neighbour to join us. If you have a KRA volunteer vest please bring it, if not we will provide one. If you haven’t renewed your membership for 2020, please bring $10 with you. We will have membership forms.

07.01.2022 In our email news of 29 May, we advised of the posting of the EPAs response to Peregrines proposal, and the many submissions on the DPTI website. One astute resident checked through the two documents but was unable to find her submission and then determined that at least four other residents submissions were not included. She contacted DPTI and they responded by posting a third document of 93 pages with all the submissions that were missed from the original two documents. ...How could they miss 93 pages of submissions? Is it surprising that they have not added a statement indicating that these submissions have been added or an apology for missing them?
