23.01.2022 Kent is qualified tradesperson with over 35 years experience. He has an exceptional eye for detail and design and enjoys working with his clients on bespoke projects . He offers general metal fabrication and repairs from his Adelaide Hills workshop, and has the capacity to cut and fold up to 6mm plate to meet most project needs. ... Kents extensive background in the mining industry, and his ingenious ability to think outside the square, keeps him busy with repeat clients and word of mouth referrals. Most recently Kent has been up-cycling scrap steel and creating one-off metal sphere sculptures. They range from 200 mm diameter to 1 metre diameter and look amazing as garden art. If you have a request for a sphere, or possibly have some steel objects passed down to you that youd like created into a sculpture, please chat with Kent. Feel free to give Kent a call if you have a metal project in mind, and hell happily talk you through your options. Otherwise you could also chat with his other two apprentices, Lily and Tess. They love giving their dad a hand on certain projects, like cleaning up the weld spatter on this sphere :)

23.01.2022 This is an example of Kents love of his craft! #attentiontodetail #skilled

22.01.2022 The finished product! Its a hydraulically driven mixer in a spreader. It was designed in collaboration with the client & was an interesting project. Great to help a local mate & orchardist. Cheers Duncan Nicol

22.01.2022 Well Ive been quiet on FB recently, but not in the workshop. Here are a few shots of what Ive been up to. Plant trailer repair. Aluminium picking ladder repair. Vine hanger fabrication and install.

19.01.2022 Since Kent is too busy in the workshop to post on Facebook I thought Id jump on and show you a couple of his latest projects. Hes been having some fun creating garden art with scrap metal. The smaller ball is made out of springs from an old fold-out bed frame. Needless to say, nothing metal is going to waste at our place...it is all being repurposed!

18.01.2022 I will have a go at repairing just about anything.

18.01.2022 Tipper hoist well angle modified to make room for machinery.

18.01.2022 Galvanized sheet metal hopper.

17.01.2022 You may recognise these gorgeous art deco gates at Wayville Show Grounds. They are the Kidman Gates, donated by the Kidman family in memory of Sir Sidney Kidman. They initially stood on the Goodwood Road entrance in front of Centennial Hall, where on 13 September 1937 they were opened by the Lieutenant Governor, Sir George Murray. During the Showgrounds redevelopment in 2007/2008 they were moved to the northern Rose Terrace entrance. Last year Kent was entrusted to slightly modify and adjust the alignment of these historic gates. It was an honour for him to work on them.

17.01.2022 Frames fabricated to suit multiple use troughs. Designed to be relocated with a forklift.

16.01.2022 I recently converded this tipper from drop sides to a solid body.

16.01.2022 I fabricated a new hot plate for our Ziggy bbq. The drain hole has a course thread in it and doubles up for the screw in handle to lift it in and out.

15.01.2022 I recently converted a conventional tipper tailgate to a swinging type. Ive converted quite a few of these both aluminum and steel. I also added an attachment to the latch so it can be opened from the ground with a hook I also supplied.

15.01.2022 Just want to shout out a big thanks to everyone whos been spreading the word about the business! Kent thinks its awesome to reconnect with so many old mates around the district, and make new local contacts. Cheers for the referrals! Were always doing the same; sourcing from and referring to local businesses wherever possible. Now who has a local laundry service because Kents manure covered work clothes arent going in my washing machine?!?! Lol Cheers Ailsa & Kent

04.01.2022 Kent has been busy working on these frames for the Wayville Show Grounds. Theyll be clad in signage and positioned around the Royal Adelaide Show- so keep a look out for his workmanship in Sept!

03.01.2022 This monumental fire pit should possibly be named The Phoenix as it was created with steel from a house site that was burnt down in the 2019 Lobethal wildfires in the Adelaide Hills. Kent decided to re-purpose it into a sculptural fire pit and now it is for sale! The outside diameter measures 1.3 metres and inside is 1 metre. The top is 700mm high, making it an ideal height to stand comfortably around.... The thin gaps between the individual rebar welded together, provide excellent aeration as the timber burns, though minimal ash drops through. It can be accessorised with a rotating bbq grill/plate to cook over coals. Kent can design and manufacture them to suit your personal needs. It is made from recycled 32mm rebar and weighs 1.5 tonne. Other fire pits with various internal diameters can also be commissioned; 1m, 800mm, 600mm and 400mm. These fire pits can also double up as large ice buckets for outside entertainment. People know Kent to be exceptionally skilled at designing and building, or repairing almost anything in steel. His eye for detail, knack at re-purposing scrap steel into artistic sculptures and his decades of experience as a designer and fabricator, creates a great demand for his pieces. Kent loves creating custom built fire pits, outdoor sculptures, bespoke gates and other one of a kind commissioned projects. Hes been entrusted to repair art deco heritage gates and local historic monuments and the integrity in his work shines through. This fire pit is historic in its own right. The steel that was once left amongst the ashes of a devastating bushfire and has now been formed into an epic sculpture showcasing the beauty of controlled flame. Buy it for your home or business and gather people around this unique fire pit. It will last for generations, as will the memories created around it. Price $11,000 Contact Kent for further information: 0417 282 085 Please pass this onto anyone youd think would be interested! Thanks.

02.01.2022 Did you notice that the local Aldgate Pump went missing for a while? Someone broke the pump off its monument and Kent was entrusted to reinstall it for the Adelaide Hills Council. Now its not going anywhere!! lol. I love hearing what Kent has been asked to make or repair each day...the variety is incredible. Makes for interesting work and a happy tradesman.... Do you have a project large or small that youd like Kent to take a look at? Give him a call on 0417 282 085. See more
