17.01.2022 UPDATE - All lantern kits have now been collected. We look forward to seeing the creations at the Cement Australia Lights on Fire event on 11 August. LANTERN MA...KING KITS are running out the door with over half the kits distributed. If you are planning to collect a kit from the Latrobe Council office at 170 Gilbert Street, Latrobe, please don't leave it too long. Kits cannot be held. In accepting a free Lantern Making Kit, you are agreeing to attend and participate in the Lantern Parade stepping off from Kings Park, Latrobe at 6.00pm on Saturday, 11 August. Refer to image. If you miss out on a free lantern kit or can't commit to the Lantern Parade, details on how to make your own lantern are available at https://www.chocolatewinterfest.com.au/taking-part/ Additionally, a lantern making workshop by the wonderful Annie Brennan is being held at the Port Sorell Surf Life Saving Clubrooms from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, 4 August. Costs apply - $30 per lantern or, for a parent helping 2+ children, add an extra $5 for second child onwards (children's lanterns only). All materials supplied but BYO secateurs and lunch.
