12.01.2022 Here’s to the generations of women who have loved and lived their entire life on the land. Here’s to the women who were not born on the land but moved for love ...and embraced the opportunity to build a new life in the bush. Here’s to the women who stand up, speak out and are at the forefront of fighting for our rural and regional communities. Here’s to the quiet achievers who work tirelessly in the background, both in their business and in volunteer roles. Here’s to the women who gave up rewarding careers for new beginning with their life partners in an environment completely different to what they knew previously. Here’s to the women who have been able to transform their skills and passions into thriving businesses. Here’s to the women who spend long days outdoors. Here’s to the women who cook, clean and care for the workers. Here’s to the women who dream of vermin proof fences and houses surrounded by lush gardens and who patiently wait for a home where family and friends can visit in comfort. Here’s to the women who give up their beloved home to make way for the next generation. Here’s to the women who sacrifice their priorities for the needs of their family. Here’s to the women who juggle multiple roles when all they want to do is stop. Here’s to the women labelled ‘strong’, who have moments when it all gets too much. Here’s to the women who understand that although isolated people don’t have to feel alone and reach out to others to make sure they are ok. Here’s to the women who face their fears everyday, those who bravely battle depression with limited resources and support services and those who remember the importance of kindness. Here’s to the women who share their personal stories and life lessons for the benefit of others. Here’s to the women running multi-million dollar businesses who don’t feel their contribution is truly valued, but they show up everyday and do their best. Here’s to the women who generously share their wisdom without fanfare or grandstanding. Here’s to the women desperate to be mothers but unable to fulfill their dream. Here’s to the women who lost life partners too young. Here’s to the women who had the courage to choose what was best for them and leave unhealthy relationships. Here’s to the women who worked through their tough times to celebrate milestone marriages. Here’s to the women who are authentically true to themselves. Here’s to the rural women who inspire, support and encourage others, often without knowing it. Here's to the women.... there is so much more that could be said, feel free to add your thoughts.
