25.01.2022 Phil and Carey Robert's Danfield garden is a tribute to two people who have somehow managed to design and maintain this gorgeous garden in spite of very busy professional careers. This is also true of Janet and Angus Carter at Calliope, who have cultivated a delightful family garden in spite of very busy working lives. The Kentucky Public School has a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, which will also be open over the weekend. You can pop in and pick up morning and/or af...ternoon tea, and have a walk through the garden while you are there! We are excited to present these gardens, and are looking forward to welcoming guests to our village for the weekend! Remember, if you are planning on coming, you can purchase your lunch at the Kentucky Memorial Hall from 11am to 2pm and morning and/or afternoon teas from the Kentucky Public School. All money raised goes back to the hall and school, and believe me, there is some amazing cooking produced in Kentucky, so don't miss out!!

21.01.2022 Kentucky Roses is now closed for this season. Thankyou again to all our gorgeous visitors, we'll see everyone again when we reopen in November 2014.

17.01.2022 Thankyou eveyone who has inquired as to whether I have opened this summer, unfortunately though we are still not in a position to reopen this year due to our family committments. Thankyou so much for your interest and inquiries!

17.01.2022 I have made the decision not to open Kentucky Roses for the next few years. This is rather gut-wrenching for me as I have so many loyal customers I look forward to seeing every Sunday when I'm open, and I love being in the garden and sharing it with people who appreciate its ramshackle beauty. Kentucky Roses is an amazing and unique business which we literally carved out of nothing in the space of a year or two, and I am immensely proud of what we have done. We have had t...o put it on hold for a few years as our kids really need us on the weekends, and I don't feel I can do the business justice by having someone else running the nursery/cafe if my husband and I are not present. I WILL be reopening in a few years, and when I do it will be even more fabulous !!! I have many plans, ideas and ambitions so please come back again when we do start up again, I promise it will be worth it and like nothing you've ever seen! In the meanwhile catch my gardening articles in every issue of the wonderful magazine New England Country Living. Once more, a very heart-felt thankyou to the AMAZING people who have supported Kentucky Roses and I'll see you in a few years time!!! All the best... See more

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, the Kentucky Roses garden WILL BE OPEN on the weekend 18th & 19th November 2017 as part of an open garden weekend to raise much needed funds for our local memorial hall (there will be at least another 3 GORGEOUS Kentucky cool-climate gardens to see as well!) Please spread the word, there will be morning, afternoon tea available at Kentucky Public School and lunches available at the Kentucky hall. If you want to arrange a bus group, you can contact me (Kate Hed...ges 02 67787220) or Janet Carter 026 7787288 to pre order a home made packaged lunch box to eat in either the hall, the park opposite, or in one of the gardens. The standard of gardens in our beautiful area is high, with many of our original soldiers cottages boasting gorgeous landscaped surrounds. Come and see for yourself! please note: Kentucky Roses garden will ONLY be opening on that weekend (18th and 19th November 2017).

11.01.2022 Kentucky Roses is closing early for the season due to the horrible horrible lack of rain. Just can't keep using this much H2O!! Last days are 19th & 26th January. Roses and gypsy junk half price or more, if you're coming on either of these dates, advisable to book a table as it will be busy!

11.01.2022 Kentucky Roses will not be opening for a few years, unfortunately, due to ongoing family commitments. Thank you everyone!!

05.01.2022 this Sunday is the last day open for the season (Australia Day) till November 2014
