23.01.2022 Schools out for the next few weeks but there is a lot happening on site as our permaculture farm gets established. We have planted over 50 fruit trees so far, plus sown maize, beans and sweet potato ready for the rains. The staff, students and community are so excited - to all of our volunteers and donors a massive THANK YOU for helping us achieve this dream. Cant wait to see what the rains bring.

21.01.2022 Due to some particularly horrible weather in Kenya a number of our classrooms have collapsed leaving 3 primary school classes without a space to learn. We are hoping that we can rebuild them in time for school recommence next year but we need to raise an additional $1,500. 07.01.2022 Immunisations against preventable illness is so important in reducing childhood deaths. It is also a big challenge to keep these vaccines in a refrigerated environment in rural Kenya where the electricity supply is intermittent at best! So last week we purchased a gas powered fridge to decrease our reliance on electricity and provide a more sustainable vaccination service #kenyaaid #shikunga #vaccines #coldchainmanagement #kenya #preventabledisease

07.01.2022 In April a team of nurses and doctors will be travelling to Shikunga with Kenya Aid to hold free medical camps in a number of surrounding villages. To fund the medications and medical equipment to do this we are fundraising by running a half marathon!
