24.01.2022 2020 STATE DTL CARNIVAL CANCELLED! Last night the VCTA Executive met and decided that due to the current 'lockdown' regulations and border closures, and in the best interests of the health, safety and well-being of the members, that the 2020 State Carnival is cancelled. Many thanks to all sponsors and members that have assisted with the planning to this point of time. The Executive hopes that we will overcome this pandemic in the soonest possible time and return to our shooting programs safely. In the meantime ... stay safe and stay well!

21.01.2022 Hi Everyone I have just posted the current advice on the VCTA’s Facebook page. People are concerned about the new lockdown regulations and what they mean to our sport’s competition resumption. Competition CAN resume as previously advised effective immediately. There is no limit on numbers but social distancing and hygiene recommendations must be taken into account. BUT . The updated restrictions mean that you can only have 20 people in your club rooms subject to th...e social distancing criteria 1 person per 4 square metres. Canteens can still function etc. etc. The Facebook posting says . WHAT THE NEW RESTRICTIONS MEAN TO US .... JUNE 22! After the excitement of the resumption of competition it was rapidly tempered by the announcement of further lock-down regulations, made on the weekend, and how that might effect clubs and upcoming competitions. There has, essentially, only been a small change. As clay target shooting is a non-contact sport - all competitions can still resume. The main limitation is on numbers in club-rooms. Canteens, kiosks etc can still function but there is a maximum limit of 20 people in indoor spaces So everything is still all systems go for competition. Ensure that social distancing and hygiene recommendations are followed. Stay home if you are unwell and good luck! There is lots of detailed advice on both the DHHS and Sport & Recreation Victoria if you would like more information. Please don’t get ‘caught up’ in the complexity of the detail. The advice provided by VCTA is the most up-to-date information that we can give you.

11.01.2022 COMPETITION RESTARTS IN VICTORIA!!!! As stated in a previous post - all clubs can recommence competition as of 11.59pm on Sunday 21st June. There is no limit to the numbers of competitors but there are still restrictions on clubrooms and canteens as per the DHHS policies. Numbers in clubrooms are restricted to 20 and social distancing is still applicable.... VCTA advises all clubs and members to make themselves aware of the regulations that will be in place as of the restart date and ensure that they comply. These regulations can be found on the Sport & Recreation website and the DHHS website. GOOD LUCK & GOOD SHOOTING!
