25.01.2022 Lions Club of Kerang Health and Welfare Chairman, Lion Greg Gin delivered 8 crocheted knee rugs to Kerang District Health Oncology Dept today. Manager Cindy Boyd was very appreciative and said that they would be put to great use by the oncology patients as the colder weather arrives! Thank you very much to Lion Faye Burton who did all the crochet work and kindly donated them to KDH.
25.01.2022 As the Market has been cancelled for March 28th, Kerang Lions Club will not be manning the BBQ as per normal. At this stage we will have to wait and see when the Kerang Community Market will recommence. Thank you for your understanding.
25.01.2022 A few tough Lions bent their backs to spread 5 metres of gravel around the new Catering shed to make it more rain and water proof! Good work guys, it is all looking great!
25.01.2022 What a great attendance our club had last night! We had to get more tables and chairs out which was great to see! Wonderful to see Attila back at our meeting and we hope his health keeps on improving. President Graeme Hayes presented him with his sponsors pin for sponsoring Alison Alexander into the club for more than 12 months. IPDG Judy McKerrow presented Graeme with a banner patch from V6 Foundation. Greg Gin presented Graeme with our new Powerheart G5 Defibrillator which... we purchased with the aid of a grant of $1500 from the Shire of Gannawarra. There were many reports from all the activities that we have done in recent weeks and all were successful. These include the Crisco Hamper disribution, Northaven Garden Party BBQ and doughnuts, Probus BBQ, Primary Schools vision Screening, Gannawarra Toy Run and Community Market. Standing orders are being reviewed and will be discussed in January. Rosters were set for another busy few weeks and after the meeting the fellowship was great. See more

If you can spare an hour or so, please come to our Kerang Lions Den in Park Road and our Lions members on duty will gladly register you and give you an area to visit! Thanking you all in advance for helping Lions to help those kids who are less fortunate than ourselves!

23.01.2022 Busy week for our Lions Club of Kerang with many varied activities! Last Sunday was an informal post covid 19 bbq get together and info meeting with a good crowd observing social distancing! Highlight was Jeff Jackson receiving a Key Members Award from President Graeme Hayes. Well done Jeff! A number of members, including Graeme Hayes, Elaine Casey, Peter Niall, Ron McKerrow, John Dear and Alison McKenzie helped the Bus Stop Op Shop ladies with their relocation to Bendigo Rd. Well done members! John Poole and Joe Tartaglia worked on the foundations for the new shed with the workmen and with all the shed materials now delivered, the shed should be completed in the next week or so. Joe Tartaglia, John Poole, John Dear and Gavin Hardy did some gardening and clearing up around the Den as well.

No more masks will be made, so if you need some masks, please visit these outlets asap! It sounds like we will all be wearing masks for quite a while to come yet!

We will attempt to fill all today’s orders but hopefully everyone will be understanding to what has happened today!

21.01.2022 Congratulations to Kerang Lion Alison McKenzie on her 50 years of serving Meals on Wheels in Kerang on behalf of the Lions Club of Kerang! This is a magnificent achievement that is much appreciated by our Club but more importantly appreciated by all the Kerang citizens that received their hot meals! Alison’s dedication has been amazing whether it has been hot, cold, windy or pouring rain, she made sure those meals were delivered on time! Fantastic effort Alison, your award is well deserved!

20.01.2022 Great progress was made today with our new shed, even allowing for the rain! Just the plumbing and electricals to go! The main instigator of the project, Lion John Poole has also been hard at work helping the shed builders and he tells me he is extremely pleased with the result! I know our club members are very appreciative of all the good work that Lions John Poole and Joe Tartaglia especially, together with a few other hardy members have done to get this shed made so quickly!
18.01.2022 It is with great sadness that the Lions Club of Kerang announce that our oldest member Noel Kojak Connelly has passed away recently after a long battle with his health. Kojak was a Melvin Jones Fellow, a Past President and a recipient of many awards over his 42 years as a Lion. He was always a hard working and dedicated Lion for the community of Kerang. Our Club extends all their love and sympathies to Eileen and all the families at this sad time. Kojak’s funeral service will be at Adams Funeral Chapel on Friday February 28 th at 2.30 pm. All Lions are asked to form a guard of honour at the Kerang Lawn Cemetery prior to his burial.
18.01.2022 For Anzac Day, Allisha Wilkinson created large stickers for rubbish bins which she made for Kerang, Koondrook and Woorinen RSL Fundraising. I believe she has helped to raise quite a few thousand dollars all up which goes towards such a worthwhile cause! Great effort Allisha! Allisha is the daughter in law of Travis Hipworth who is the stepson of our Lions Club of Kerang President, Lion Graeme Hayes.
17.01.2022 As well as being able to purchase Lions Club of Kerang masks at Gravity Clothing, Victoria St Kerang, orders can still be made via inbox on Lions Club of Kerang Facebook page!
17.01.2022 It is a very sad week for the Lions Club of Kerang. Tomorrow is Noel Kojak Connelly’s funeral. Kojak passed away last week after a long illness. Last night I was given the sad news that Judy Bryant, widow of former Kerang Lion, Barry Bryant, passed away peacefully in her sleep aged 78 on Monday night in Ulladulla NSW. Judy was in quite good health according to son Stephen but was missing Barry a lot after he passed away with cancer last year. They both made the long trip back to Kerang for our club’s 50th Anniversary in 2018 and despite Barry’s failing health, they had a great time catching up with old friends from their time here in the 70’s and 80’s. They were both lovely people! On behalf of Kerang Lions, I have given our Club’s deepest sympathies to Stephen and all the families.
16.01.2022 Kerang Lions did their first Woolworths Sausage Sizzle on a Friday last week and it was quite successful. We normally have been doing them on the second Saturday of every even month but due to circumstances we will be doing them every second FRIDAY of every month from now on from 11am till 2pm! Come down and buy a sausage in bread from us and support us as all monies raised goes back directly into our own Kerang community.
16.01.2022 Kerang Lions tonight retained the Annual Bowls Challenge Trophy over Kerang Rotary by a whopping 35 shots! Thanks go to all the players and especially those who filled in on both sides! Thanx go to Kerang golf and bowls club for catering food and beverages for all of us! Both Lions President Graeme Hayes and Rotary President Ron Kelly were very pleased with the inter club get together and we look forward to hosting them for dinner in a few weeks time at the Lions Den.
16.01.2022 Our Lions Club of Kerang is proud to be a major sponsor of Kerang Regional parkrun together with The Shire if Gannawarra, The Rotary Club of Kerang and Kerang Sporties Club. 15.01.2022 Even though our Lions Club of Kerang cannot do our normal activities at present, we can still contribute to our Kerang community as shown here with our gifts of homemade biscuits to the nursing staff of KDH on their special day! Thank you to all the Lady Lions and Lions partners who did all the baking when asked at short notice. The first 6 ladies that I asked, baked so well for me that I didn’t have to contact the rest on my list! If needed, these ladies may be called on for our next project! Yours in Lionism, Lion Greg Gin, Health and Welfare Chairman.
15.01.2022 Another excellent Australia Day Celebration with Lion Peter Niall doing a great job as MC. Australia Day (AD) Ambassador Stan Alves gave a wonderful address full of sincerity and passion for Australia and our culture. It was also impressive to have so many people gaining their Australian Citizenship in Kerang. Well done to Kerang Rotary for their AD breakfast, to the Shire of Gannawarra for their backing and contributions and to Kerang Lions for their setting up and organization. It would have been nicer to have more Kerang citizens attending the ceremony but those who did make the effort were greeted with wonderful weather and a very polished celebration!
15.01.2022 Due to covid 19 restrictions on numbers to only 20 for indoor gatherings, our Rememberance Day on Sunday 21st February has to be postponed to a later date. We apologise for any inconvenience, but as you realise the matter is out of our hands!

Attila’s major legacy to our club was the construction of our Memorial Wall and surrounding paving which he designed and built with the help of many Lions labouring for him. The shed has been ordered, the earth pad has been prepared thanks to the prompt work of Rob Farrer last week and hopefully the concrete and the shed construction will occur in the next few weeks.

Special thanks to Tanya Spencer, owner and Gavin Tarr, manager of Gravity Clothing for being our main selling outlet and also Northern District Communi...ty Health as our secondary selling point. Your help has been greatly appreciated by our club and its members and profits from this Mask Project will be donated back into the Kerang Community. Thank you to all the Lions and Lions partners who have contributed to this Mask Project! You know who you are and we are very proud of you! Lions Clubs International motto is - "We Serve!" See more
