24.01.2022 What do you do when you go to the beach and it's too cold to swim?
23.01.2022 It probably seems like a good idea to self-isolate at the coast. It has all the elements that you need - fresh air full of energy, salty water for clearing, isolated beaches to wander and a warm cosy fire to snuggle up to at night. But PLEASE think again. In these times of change we must be aware of the needs of others. These small coastal communities are fragile and under-resourced. If people from the cities spread the virus to locals, it will have a profound effect.. These ...communities have limited resources. Just a small supermarket, so visitors will be buying things that the locals need. Just a small hospital, and no facilities for an influx of virus-affected people. Beds will be taken up by guests from the city and there will be no room for the frail and elderly in these communities. So be flexible, bend like bamboo, and have a holiday at home. However, we have had guests at Kerens Place, and we are implementing very strict sanitising and hygiene procedures. We can ALL help this community to link arms to survive these times of change. If you really want to come, bring ALL of your own provisions. PLEASE self-isolate properly and do not go to the General Store or the Pub. The beaches and bush tracks are still there for your walks, just avoid contact with everyone. If you have the virus and are not well, STAY AT HOME and seek medical attention at your own hospital. Wishing you health and safety in these troubled times. Stay positive, dont spend too much time on social media or watching the news, just enough to be informed. Eat fresh, natural foods, exercise to keep oxygen circulating in your body, get as much sunshine and fresh air as you can. Focus on the things that you feel grateful for because Gratitude give the immune system a great boost!

Give of yourself, even if you know that your gift will never be seen. 16.01.2022 Thanks for your lovely words Andrew. So happy that you enjoyed your stay. "What a wonderful place for a quiet getaway for a few days, so close to everything on the Great Ocean Road and yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns! The cottage was comfortable and cosy, with everything we needed. Sitting in front of the fire with the dogs on a cold night was a very relaxing way to spend a winters evening and a perfect break from the worries of the world. Keren is extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble, and we absolutely loved our stay."

08.01.2022 On this day in 1932, a crowd converged in Lorne to celebrate the opening of the newly completed Great Ocean Road. Over a 13-year construction period, 3000 returned servicemen built the road, largely by pick, shovel and barrow. Now a popular road trip for Victorian locals and visitors alike, the 'greatness' of the Great Ocean Road has never diminished.... Learn more about the challenges and champions of this incredible build via our latest blog: http://blogs.slv.vic.gov.au/.../road-of-a-thousand-charms/ Thanks to State Library of Victoria for this. 04.01.2022 Its time to be free and enjoy the road, the sea breeze on your face and sand beneath your feet. However, we are not back to "normal" yet, whatever that may be for everyone. Be mindful of protecting your space, and be kind to Mother Earth. Tread carefully and leave no footprints. We must learn to live in harmony with ourselves, others and the beautiful spaces around us. Things can change, we can change, if we listen with our hearts and see with our souls.... Thank you Renee Wigley for sharing Brians post.

02.01.2022 A dog went missing last night and the owner was advised to put an item of clothing down at the area it became lost (for the scent). Lots of people searched for ...the dog but to no avail. Then, first light this morning, the dog was found sitting on the owners coat that had been left. Thought this was good advice and maybe worth sharing. See more
