20.01.2022 This page is run by volunteers and not monitored constantly. To report a fire or other emergency dial 000. To stay up to date on fires in Victoria download the Vic Emergency App, like CFA (Country Fire Authority) and Vic Emergency on Facebook and bookmark emergency.vic.gov.au/respond/... We will try to share relevant information but this page should not be your primary source of information. If there is a fire we will be manning fire trucks not social media.

18.01.2022 This morning for the first time in several months, members of the brigade participated in some training. As part of our preparation for the upcoming fire season we conducted crew protection drills one at Grantville station and one at Kernot station. Due to restrictions due to Covid we are keeping the numbers down per session to 4 crew and a Covid safe coordinator. This is following strict protocols set down by CFA and the Chief Health Officer. Over coming weeks and months the Brigade will conduct more of these drills and other essential training, which is needed for our members to be ready to protect ours and other communities around the state.

17.01.2022 Winter has officially begun; let’s keep our heating appliances in check Winter has now officially set in and we have all retrieved our heaters from hibernation, increasing the risk of house fires. There are a number of ways people can prepare for winter:... Turn off all portable heating and extinguish open fires before leaving home. Ensure heaters are installed, maintained and operated according to manufacturers’ instructions. Always use a fire screen in front of an open fire. Chimneys and flues should be cleaned annually. Keep wood and other combustibles at least one metre from fire. Children must be supervised near all types of heating. Maintain a safe distance between children and heating. They support us through bushfire campaigns. Thank you
