24.01.2022 My decision to sell Peter (lot 21 Nutrien Classic 2021) hasn’t been a light one, I have been fighting with it for a few years now partly due to circumstances th...at Puss wanted for me after he passed but were never honoured. My heart hasn’t been in it for some time also the difficulties getting into Campdrafts are just a few reasons aside from personal ones. I love this horse more then life itself but it is time for me to head in another direction. I could be selfish and geld him, put him in a paddock for 3 or 4 years and maybe do something with him then but that would be wrong for the horse and the breed. I am keeping Semen for down the track . The horse industry can be tough and cruel and more so with a stallion like Peter. He needs to be campaigned in Campdrafting with a competitive horse person. I have done all I can with him except win a Warwick Gold Cup and that’s wishful thinking! Hopefully he will be in that lineup and win the illusive Gold Cup with his next owners. He has been lightly campaigned and held back for longevity & due to the powers above. He has been lucky to have been to 20 Campdrafts & challenges in his short career with wins, places or finales at every venue. Some people say due to ignorance that his an old horse now! His 10! He is just ready to hit his straps and for someone to enjoy and be extremely competitive for another 10 years. He is one of two Romeo stallions bred in the past 10 maybe 15 years along with One Night Stand. Peter being the only HSH which makes him pretty unique. Their sire Warrenbri Romeo is one of our main Impact ASHS sires and has been deceased for close to 30 years now and Romeos Semen has been very hit and miss. I do believe only a handful have been bred in the past 10 years along with Peter. Puss predicted Peter to be great, he even wrote that in his Will and why he wanted me to have him, all in his Will! Peter has 34 progeny on the ground, only 9 registered which is crazy He has bred 16 (4 more bookings as of the 27/11) mares this season with 5 still waiting to be preg tested, the rest are positive. His an easy breeder and runs with his mares at home. His chilled Semen has been a bit hit and miss in recent years possibly due to a high temp or overheated at some stage in his life, not sure when. Four mares have been walk on walk off here and are all positive. His progeny are all proving to be easy to do anything with, completely out of the box like Peter. Those that know, know that the Romeo x Comet cross need lots of miles and wet saddlecloths. They are a Horseman’s horse! Peter has broken the mould. You will never ride a more smooth & smarter horse then this guy. I’ve never ridden anything like him and he hasn’t been cutting trained extensively, ridden by our top Campdraft competitors or with a trainer to be educated like most. I truely hope he goes to the right home into the hands of a horseman that will Campdraft him. That is what his bred to do.

22.01.2022 CROSS FIBRE GROOMING Grooming is a great way to bond with your horse, locate tight spots and lightly massage the muscles. Cross fibre grooming is excellent for ...keeping the fascia conditioned, helping to smooth sticky fascia and break down adhesions. It stimulates circulation, increases relaxation and promotes release. Using the flat of your hands or your horse’s favourite brush or rubber curry comb, groom the hair at right angles to the direction of growth which is usually also at right angles to the underlying muscles. Cross fibre grooming, you horse will thank you for it. #belindabolsenbroekacademy #horselove #horseconnection #equinehealth #wellnessforhorses #notawasteoftime

13.01.2022 Contact issues are something I get asked about at nearly every dressage focused barn I teach at - especially, why is my horse so heavy in the contact, and what ...can I do? The problem is contact focused learning is that it puts the focus on the wrong end. I’ve gone on and on about this, so if you read my stuff, you know what I think about that. But why is your horse strong in the contact? Some possible reasons: -back issues -hind end weakness -instability -fear, tension, pain -riders hands are unyielding and horse has learned to lean -horses back is not lifted or SWINGING...the back needs to MOVE! Contact issues just show what is not working with the rider or the horses body. They are not fixed by the riders hands, they are fixed by the riders and horses body. Dressage riders are often floored when I explain contact should not require gloves or strong arms- neither should your horse hide from the contact, but the feel is like holding a loved ones hand : you feel each other, but it is kind and pleasant for both. So if you have contact issues, think of it like the check engine light in your truck. It is not fixed by holding steady with your hands, it is not fixed by closing the horses mouth, it is not fixed by more spur. It is fixed by attending to the horses body and aligning yours. Contact is the gift you get when the body and mind are well.

06.01.2022 JUST A TRAIL HORSE? One of the most underestimated beholders of equine prowess would have to be the trail horse. I often hear in conversation I’m just after a ...trail horse, nothing special or well educated. But do they really know what they are asking for? And more so what is expected of this nothing fancy horse? It’s like saying they’re just a stay-at-home mum - without understanding what is required for the job at hand. A job with a nothing fancy title can sure hold a lot of responsibility. A trail horse is required to be easily adaptable, emotionally sound and brave in an ever-changing environment. This is totally unlike the horse school or the arena where the environment is controlled and predictable - the trail horse needs to be able to handle its own emotions and those of the people and at times, other horses, around it. The trail horse needs a solid education, where they can be guided through difficult terrain and unknown situations without batting an eye. Consider all the jobs required along the trail - open and closing of gates, creek or river crossings and navigating traffic, wheelie bins and plastic bags, motorbikes, dogs and nervous riders. The trail horse is a lot more than just a trail horse and requires a solid education to be a stable one. The questions is, are you a solid influence on your nothing fancy horse? - Tiffanie Edwards

04.01.2022 This bloke has gotten better and better with age. He pretty much hasn't been ridden since he injured his leg (referenced in his sale details) in August 2016. He was a paddock sire for me and then at Yarrabin where, I understand, Jess poked about on him occasionally on trail rides. His work with Jem at Mat is therefore exceptional given the little work he has actually done. Get on and ride away and his progeny are just awesome (even if I do say so myself). https://ae3-hub.auctionsplus.com.au/auction/24518#/_
