23.01.2022 While this is not really a newsflash for naturopaths, I am so excited by this preliminary research. When we look at a chronic condition with a holistic perspective, it often means better medication management and better health.
18.01.2022 The herb garden is going nuts at the moment. I've been busy making comfrey oil (for joint and bone troubles), yarrow extract (natural insect repellent), calendula oil (skin troubles) and various tea blends for Digestion and pleasure. Pictured is a beautiful big bunch of fresh lavender for mum and dried lemon balm ready to package for a client. Lemon balm is top notch for settling a nervous tummy and lifting the spirits. Grass roots herbal magic!!! So fun!! Herb nerd outta here
18.01.2022 As a woman in her 40's I am passionate about this area of preventive health. Peri- menopause is the long lead up to menopause. It can start as early as your late 30's. It doesn't necessarily mean that we become infertile but it is a transition where our ovaries start winding down. It's totally natural but we do need a bit of extra TLC to prevent unpleasant and confusing symptoms. If we understand what is happening, we can do something about it and have an easier time of menop...ause when it finally arrives. There is plenty of stigma associated with peri-menopause and menopause. I have many women come to see me that are not aware of this gradual hormone change and think that something is really wrong with them. My goal is to educate and empower women and ask them to pass it on to other younger women so that they will benefit from this. Have a listen to this podcast or feel free to come and see me if you would like help. Let's be wise women. See more
14.01.2022 i have just come across this guy. I highly recommend watching some of his videos (especially the funny ones). Im sharing because I find that self esteem and self sabotage issues are at the root of many physical imbalances that we just can't shift. Another related issue is that we distract ourselves from being still enough to be aware of how we really feel. He has a really funny video about social media and our phones too. This highlights the powerful distraction that addicti...on can have in our lives. Meditation and breathing exercises are great tools to access the peace and clarity we need to heal more deeply. there are lots of ways to meditate and we all have our preferences. I find it useful to use a breathing based type to wind me down and then I may move onto a mindful or even trancendental one. Depends on what is going on and how much I need it. The breathing techniques I use are the Buteyko Breathing method or Alternate nostril breathing. They work brilliantly to chill me out. My problem is that I can be inconsistent and alow things to get crazy before I think to start using these techniques again. I'm sure I'm not alone here. Good thing that I know about these easy techniques and can quickly put them in place to change the channel. My personal goal is to make this more regular in order to overcome this self sabotage I teach these techniques in clinic to help clients access different levels of healing. See more

10.01.2022 Another corker of a post by the amazing Lara Briden. A game changer for me in practice when I learnt about histamine excess. Particularly relevant for those on a paleo style diet.
10.01.2022 Critical research to back our treatment plans for cardiovascular and skeletal health. Soooooo much more to it than chowing down on rock calcium.

09.01.2022 Hello everyone!! Wow!! I am blown away by the response to my beeswax food wraps. I sold out of my stock at the market which has got me buzzing (so didn't mean that pun). Funny thing that our market stall just happened to be next to a lady selling fabric (coincidence??). I was able to stock up on some lovely new fabric to mix in with recycled fabric that I have. Soooooo.... Here are the details; How are they made? ... Cotton fabric, beeswax and pine resin. This combo makes it flexible, mouldable, reuseable and antibacterial. How to use? Mould to top of vessel using your hands to create a seal. You can also wrap veges, fruit, cheese, snacks, sandwiches, wraps, rolls and loaves of bread. This list is endless really. NOT for meats or in direct contact with hot foods. Product care Wash with cool soapy water and air dry. Store in kitchen drawer. Avoid microwave, dishwasher, oven and hot water. Some foods may stain wrap (ie; beetroot). Product life With proper care can last up to a year. If it starts to smell funny then it's time to compost it. Benefits No more cling wrap. Keeps food fresh. 05.01.2022 I would love to rap the benefits of herbs and foods in this way but I'm afraid my flow would be ummmm pretty bad . I'll leave it to this dude. I love how he shows how to cut the aloe too . Check it out and get an aloe plant. I use aloe as a face wash and moisturiser for problem/oily skin.
04.01.2022 Anatomy craft!! Love it . Must organise for the clinic
03.01.2022 Thank you Rachel Arthur!! This is reassuring. Case in point: I recently reviewed a clients previous pathology only to find a significant changes in kidney function. These results were still 'in range' but very different from past testing. These results were not scheduled to be reviewed but I encouraged him to make an appointment with his doctor to highlight the relevant change. Lucky for them. Turns out there was a chronic urinary infection and the client chose to address this with herbs and nutrition. Client vitality significantly restored. So many more examples of picking up issues before they become more serious. For this reason and so much more, we have a valuable place in healthcare.
01.01.2022 Hi all!!! Just an update on my clinic days - Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ready and willing to help you achieve your wellness goals.
01.01.2022 It's been some time since my last post (so Facebook tells me ) so I thought I'd share some things that I've been getting up to. First thing is that I've been busy updating my knowledge on digestive health and the many conditions that may arise from imbalances in the gut ( mental health problems, allergies, autoimmunity, obesity etc etc etc). The second is that I am loving listening to Susan Weed. Yep!! Her last name is Weed and she's a brilliant, wise (albeit very opiniona...Continue reading
01.01.2022 Greetings earthlings!! I just wanted to share with you a wonderful new blog for those of you that seek support as a parent of children with genetic disease. My amazing sister has decided to share her musings, trials and tribulations as a way of reaching out to the community, encourage exchange of ideas and promote wellbeing in all areas of life. I am so proud of this family. You can find her blog at ourarvoshift.com.au There's a Facebook page by the same name too.
01.01.2022 To market, to market..... Beeswax food wraps. Handmade by mwa. It took much trial and error to get the recipe right and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Great non-toxic alternative to plastic cling wrap. They are reusable and easy to clean. ... Plastic in the environment is getting to dangerous levels and is starting to affect our health ( as well as other living beings and the planet). We must start finding ways to increase awareness, make some changes and reduce our exposure. Beeswax food wraps are a great start !!
