20.01.2022 Got a beautiful day to hike up Sliabh Mish Mountain tothe ancient and mythical stone fort of Caherconree, and the Caherconree (835m) and Gearhane (739m) peaks beyond the fort. The views were absolutely amazing, you can see nearly all of north and south Kerry. We took the trail from Bóthar na gCloch (Road of the stones). . 13.01.2022 Our last hike last weekend before lockdown. A lovely 14.5km hike starting at the very pretty Kildurrihy Village outside Ventry. It starts with a fairly tough climb and some boggy hill-top to get to Mount Eagle (520m), where you will be rewarded with the best views of the Blasket Islands. Following ancient boundary walls the trail makes its way down to Fahan, where you eventually join the Dingle Way. Plenty views of ancient beehive huts (clocháns), and stone monuments on the w...ay, before heading back to Killdurrihy through green roads. I will so miss the mountains for the next 6 weeks . But every day is different, sometimes we walk over perfectly smooth sand, sometimes slithering over knee high seaweed, calm seas and rough seas, colourful seashells and stones, an ever changing landscape/seascape.
