21.01.2022 Looking to make a probiotic drink for the whole family, below is a video of my daughter making coconut water kefir. Its so simple with starter cultures from Kul...tured Wellness. All you need to do is pop the starter culture in a jar, add some coconut water and place the lid on, place it in the pantry for 24hours and once its fizzing, pop it in the fridge. Add in some fruit to flavour it or have it on its own! #kulturedwellness #guthealth #probioticdrink #goodbugs #boostyourimmunesystem See more

17.01.2022 What is coconut water kefir? Coconut water kefir is coconut water that has been fermented. It provides fuel for the beneficial bacteria in your gut. These benef...icial (good) bacteria fight potentially harmful bacteria as well as infection. They also help stimulate digestion and boost your immune system. In my workshop this Sunday I will show you how easy it is to make coconut water kefir, and how you can easily add it into your diet. For further information or to attend my online workshop, comment below. Picture credit: Kultured Wellness #guthealth #wholehealthhabits #coconutwaterkefir #ferment

16.01.2022 Boost your good bacteria with homemade coconut yoghurt! This coconut yoghurt contains more beneficial bacterial strains and organisms than dairy-based yoghurt. ... Add in some blended fruit (I've used raspberries below) and you also get the benefits of fermented fruit as the beneficial bacteria ferments the fruit! A win win! This Sunday I am running a workshop online from 11-12 and I will be showing you how simple it is to make coconut yoghurt using coconut cream and a starter culture (beneficial bacteria) - thats it! 16.01.2022 Elderberry & orange gummies! These beautiful gummies have helped my family get through a rubbish cold this week. Thanks @realfoodpathway for the recipe inspo!... I added in some extra honey for my girls to enjoy them and some freshly squeezed orange juice for vitamin c. Elderberry syrup has been used for centuries as a home remedy to treat colds and flu. The syrup can reduce the severity and duration of cold and flus. It also helps to reduce inflammation. The elderberry syrup can taste quite strong, so by adding in honey and orange juice it becomes sweeter, and turning them into gummies, makes them fun for the kids to enjoy! Elderberry syrup packs can be purchased locally from @andreadalton_wellness. #guthealth #immuneboost #immunehealth #elderberries #oranges #antioxidants #antiinflammatory #ginger #cinnamon #elderberrysyrup

12.01.2022 Sundays are for food prep in our house. I make sure we have breakfast, lunch and lunch box snacks ready for the week, as it just makes mornings run so much smoo...ther. This Mediterranean inspired quinoa salad is great to make ahead, and store in your fridge ready for lunches. Its so simple too, recipe below.. 1 cup of quinoa 2 slices of good quality bacon A handful of spinach 1 tablespoon of fetta (or goats cheese if dairy free) 6-8 organic baby tomatoes A handful of almonds A few mint leaves Olive oil Balsamic vinegar Pinch of salt Cook the quinoa in 2 cups of water for about 15 - 20 minutes. On a medium heat, fry the bacon until golden brown, remove from the pan, add some coconut oil and fry the spinach. Chop the tomatoes in half and chop the almonds. When the quinoa is cooked combine all ingredients together in a bowl and dress with some olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a good pinch of salt. Then crumble the fetta on top! #quinoasalad #foodprepsunday #saladseaon #lunch #yum #wholehealthhabits

11.01.2022 What does a FLAVOUR do? It adds flavour - any kind of flavour. Natural flavours are often added into food products as they’re much cheaper than the real deal. L...et’s look at vanilla as an example. Real vanilla is VERY expensive. Very few manufacturers use the real vanilla, they’ll use ‘vanilla flavour’ instead. WHAT ARE ARTIFICIAL FLAVOURS Synthetic flavour made from proprietary chemicals. COMMONLY FOUND IN This ingredient has reached a saturation point. It’s in EVERYTHING! WHY AVOID IT? These are used to make fake food taste real. This is not a single ingredient each flavour may contain up to 100 ingredients, including synthetic chemicals, solvents and preservatives such as BHA, propylene glycol, MSG, parabens + more. WHAT ARE NATURAL FLAVOURS? We actually don’t know! Manufacturers aren’t required to disclose the ingredients used in ‘natural flavours’. Again, repeating myself, but I think this is insane! Just ONE ‘natural flavour’ could actually comprise of 36, 50 or up to 100 different ingredients! COMMONLY FOUND IN Almost all processed food. WHY AVOID IT? Both are made in a lab. The only difference between natural vs. artificial flavours, is that artificial flavours are made from non food sources. While natural flavours start from natural food sources. However, the amount of processing and chemicals used in it’s manipulation, results in a product that is very different from the original source. Are they safe? It depends who you ask. MSG is a ‘natural flavour,’ and so are other disgusting additives like ‘castoreum’ - a vanilla flavour made from the anal sacs of beavers, yes you read that right. The short of it is: we really don’t know what’s included in flavours. Without calling the manufacturer, there’s no way to actually tell what ‘natural flavour’ is, so unless you’re willing to do some research, personally, I think it’s safest to avoid them. P.s these are the #eggfree #glutenfree #sugarfree Brownies + Peppermint #dairyfree Ice Cream from our eBook Sugarless Sweets - & guess what, they’re both loaded with REAL flavour because REAL FOOD is flavour Would you like more SWAP THIS FOR THAT suggestions like this?
