25.01.2022 Can you make space, in your head and in your heart, for what might be possible for you... Can you move forward, not from the limited view of your circumstances, but the unlimited perspective of potential... Can you invite change into your life with a sense of excitement and wonder...... I'm feeling all of this today as I gaze at the opportunities coming my way. Please don't stop dreaming. Don't hold yourself back from what you really want. So much is achievable! Kerry xx
25.01.2022 On Friday evening I found myself unexpectedly having to wait 45 minutes for something. Luckily one doesn’t have to go far in Canberra to find an open space. I took myself to a park, just a few metres away, and sat under this lovely tree. ... The air started cooling after what had been a very hot day, and the sky began to change. I filled the time with some social media scrolling, some deep breathing, some contemplation, and of course I took this photo It was so lovely to have that unexpected void. It gave my entire system a chance to exhale. I love moments of pause. Moments of rest. I highly recommend them! They are so wonderfully nourishing for body, mind and soul.
25.01.2022 To support the beautiful teacher trainees at Change Yoga & Wellness, I'm ending my classes this week with a Chakra balancing meditation, because they've just learned about the energetics of yoga. It works beautifully with the balancing class we're doing, which has been inspired by the equinox. There are so many different layers one can bring into a yoga practice. ... There's movement, breath, meditation, contemplation, mantra (sound), mudra (hand gestures) and more! And whether you understand the meaning or the science behind each element or not, it's through the experience of them that the shifts occur. Subtly at first, and then quite profoundly, until you find yourself saying "yoga changed my life".
24.01.2022 Whilst we may have all heard of life coaches, it's pretty common to not fully understand what they do or how they can help us. Add to that the many different areas of coaching, and that each person has their own style, experience and qualifications, and it can be a bit confusing. I've answered a few questions below, based on how I work. I hope it's helpful.... ? My clients come to me when there is something they want to change, improve, shift or achieve. They don't always know exactly what it is, but they know they feel stuck, maybe a little discontent, and they want some support in moving forward. ? * Through meaningful enquiry. I ask them pertinent questions which helps them gain clarity. * Through deep listening. I hold judgment-free space, allowing my clients to verbally process. This brings about amazing insights and ah-ha moments. * Through wise reflection. I shine a light on what they may not be seeing. * Through gentle accountability. In each session my client chooses action steps aligned with their goals and the next time we meet they tell me how they went. This process helps them figure out what does work and what doesn't, which allows them to create supportive, sustainable behaviours going forward. * Through radical encouragement. I celebrate each one of their achievements, and invite them to celebrate too! * Through knowledge and information. I share mindset tools, mindfulness practices, worksheets and resources to support my clients' growth. ? No it isn't. Whilst both can bring about significant transformation, coaching is forward focused. Of course we might talk about the past, however we don't spend a huge amount of time analysing it. Rather we concentrate on the steps a client can take to move beyond what's holding them back, so that they can create the future they desire. : Coaching delivers a deeper understanding of who you are, what's most important to you, and how you operate best. It helps you get clear on your path ahead. It gives you the tools to free yourself from the limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck. It helps you to rewrite your narrative, change behaviours and form positive habits. Through the process your self-belief blossom. You own the value of your abilities and strengths. And you step forward feeling confident and capable into a life that lights you up! , .
24.01.2022 In a completely unoriginal move with Valentine's Day yesterday, this week in class we're focusing on our heart Chakra, Anahata. What does this mean? This means we'll combine mudra (a hand gesture) and visualisation to connect to this space within our bodies.... It means we'll do poses that open up our upper chest, back, shoulders and ribcage. And it means I'll be giving you little bits of information about this energetic centre throughout class. It's worth noting that the psychological states given to each Chakra are a modern Western innovation and not something found in ancient Sanskrit sources. And if we opened up the body we wouldn't find these wheels or discs. In saying that, I personally love working with the metaphysics of these energy centres, especially Anahata. And I will always invite students, through their own experience of what I teach, to take what resonates and leave the rest behind.
21.01.2022 I’ve seen my clients achieve some incredible tangible results during our work together, but really, it’s the changes with how they view themselves that I find most exciting. Every one of them has greater self-acceptance, self-trust and self-belief at the end of their coaching journey. It’s phenomenal! And because of this, they move through their world differently.... People pleasing diminishes as they start making choices that honour their needs and are aligned to their values. They become more confident with leaving their comfort zone and this opens up a world of opportunity for them. Their inner-critic makes way for much kinder and compassionate self-talk. They view themselves as capable, worthy and wise. Whilst I celebrate and am incredibly proud of everything my clients achieve in our time together, seeing their self-love blossom in this way is what really lights my heart on fire.
20.01.2022 When you invest in coaching with me, you don’t only get my attention for 70 minutes once every fortnight. You get my attention for the entire time we work together. My clients have access to me via email and / or voice messages in-between our sessions, so that they can share their reflections, challenges and achievements. ... I am there the whole time to encourage, reassure and support them. When you invest in coaching with me, you get somebody fully committed to, and invested in, your success. Sound like something you could benefit from? Find the link to an obligation and cost free chat below and lets see if my unique brand of enthusiasm and upliftment is just what you need.
20.01.2022 Loving others and being loved by others is a precious and wonderous gift. It brings with it growth, learning, delight, and also sometimes heartbreak. It's a crucial part of our journey.... BUT... loving yourself is the foundation that will set you up for all other relationships in your life. Knowing you are worthy and whole just as you are will determine your boundaries, your self-care, your self-compassion and so much more. It will ensure that you don't look outside of yourself to feel complete. Or rely on someone else to make you happy. Rather, you'll know that all that you need is already within you. And you'll understand that developing the relationship with yourself will bring you a depth of contentment that can't be found anywhere else.
19.01.2022 Last Friday I attended a beautiful circle held by The Self-Love Sisterhood. To close the gathering Melissa played us some awesome music, and we danced! We moved around the room with free abandon, letting go of our inhibitions, big grins on our faces.... It was so much fun!! I used to dance a lot in my twenties, at nightclubs and house parties. Hours spent on the dance floor! Last week reminded me what an uplifting activity it is, and one we can access freely! Do you like to dance? When last did you do so?
19.01.2022 I’m taking some time out with my girls, and loving every moment... I’m so blessed to do work that lights me up, and also offers flexibility. When we left Sydney a little over 2 years ago I decided I wanted to build a location independent business. ... Yesterday as I sat watching the ocean, I realised I’ve done it. I can coach from anywhere in the world. I can probably teach yoga anywhere I live too. And after starting over twice, I’m not afraid to do it again. Not that we are planning on moving anytime soon. But it feels good to know that if we do, Kerry Solomon Coaching can come with me wherever I go. Right... back to watching the waves...
19.01.2022 Today in class I had a major 'left and right' mix-up. When I say major, I didn't just fumble once, but rather I insistently repeated my cue a few times, unable to grasp why nobody was listening to me Afterwards, one of the beautiful Change Yoga & Wellness teacher trainees said it was so reassuring to see that even experienced teachers make mistakes. It inadvertently took some of the pressure off for when she begins teaching. This got me thinking about how true it is that ...when we show us as our real, imperfect selves, we give others permission to do the same. Whilst of course we all want to put our best foot forward, and sharing parts of ourselves that are less than flawless can leave us feeling vulnerable, the fact is that we'll never get everything right all of the time. If we can accept this about ourselves, and then share this truth with others, it's a wonderful way to let us all off the hook from having to be constantly perfect. If you feel the weight to reach these impossibly high standards you have set for yourself, I invite you to take a big breath out and release the burden of this self-imposed pressure. If that feels really hard to do, just think of who you might help when you show up as perfectly imperfect you!
18.01.2022 For us in the Southern Hemisphere, tomorrow is the Spring Equinox. A beautiful time of year, steeped in colour and warmth. In Canberra our naked trees are filling with blossoms. ... And with Floriade reimagined this year, we have over a million bulbs planted throughout the city, so there are flowers blooming everywhere! It's really quite stunning! Here are a few ways you can celebrate the Equinox: Wake up at dawn to watch the sunrise. Pick or buy flowers for your home. Plant something. Kick off your shoes and spend time barefoot on the earth. Paint or draw what spring feels like to you. Clean out cupboards or rearrange furniture. Here are some journal prompts: What does balance mean to me? How can I bring more balance into my life? What do I feel hopeful about right now? What do I want to create or call in over the next 3 months? This is a time of renewal and rebirth. A time to plant seeds. A time to shake off the winter heaviness and step forward into the lightness and optimism that Spring brings. Artwork by Stella Im Hultberg http://www.stellaimhultberg.com/
17.01.2022 Another great yoga sequence from Sammy! Happy Friday! Hope your weekend is full of lightheartedness and smiles.
14.01.2022 So, so, so thrilled that the work I'm going to be doing in this world is to guide people through this amazing journey!
14.01.2022 I'm so deeply grateful for these kind words. I'm also extremely grateful for the brilliant framework I've learnt and fantastic skills I've developed through the Beautiful You Coaching Academy. After years of teaching yoga, knowing that it has the power to transform people's lives, and then facilitating women's circles and witnessing the potential for healing they invite, I knew any other work I expanded into had to offer profound results. It's my soul's calling to serve in... this way. So when I receive feedback from my clients that they are experiencing positive, tangible shifts, it fills my heart with joy. If you would like to find out how working with me as your coach can benefit you, I'd love to chat. Book a complimentary consult in here: https://kerrysolomon.as.me/complimentaryconsult and lets have a conversation about your fabulous future. xx
14.01.2022 Do you celebrate your achievements? It's funny how we can spend more time looking ahead at how far we still have to go, instead of acknowledging where we've started from and how far we've come. Here is a journal prompt that may help create a habit of recognising all the things you do right all the time.... , ? These positive choices may be drinking more water, remaining centred in a challenging situation, completing your tax return, replying to that email, going to bed earlier, smiling at a stranger, stopping to smell the roses, saying no to something, saying yes to something... The possibilities are endless! When we reframe out thinking to self-celebration instead of self-criticism we begin to realise just how awesome we are!!
13.01.2022 The full moon in Pisces that we experienced on Wednesday delivered some beautiful shifts for me. We can't plan these internal releases. Of course we can shine a light on what no longer serves us and set the intention to let that go, but there is a fair amount of grace and timing involved too.... When it comes to growth and healing, being purposeful and persistent is great, but we need to be patient too. PS - this was my view when I went into our bathroom in the early hours of Thursday morning. The moon was beautifully positioned over our skylight and I just had to capture her.
12.01.2022 What are you waiting for to start living life in a way that honours the precious gift that it is? What's holding you back from following those big, beautiful dreams? What's keeping you from stepping forward in a way that's aligned to who you are?... Your time on this planet is finite. You do have choices. Make ones that help you live a life that is joy-filled and meaningful. Happy weekend!
11.01.2022 When you're looking through your photos and start noticing a theme... #earthing #grounding #barefoot
10.01.2022 This. The perfect Sunday morning. A lie in. ... Coffee delivered by my lovely husband. Studying something that lights me up. Listening to bird songs outside. A croissant waiting for me in the kitchen. This is bliss. I like every day of the week, but Sundays are my favourite Wishing you a beautiful day, however you choose to spend it. xx
08.01.2022 Do you ever do this? Make things harder than they need to be? I know I do.... And usually when I take the time to look at why, I find an underlying fear. That's what most resistance is about. It's a protective mechanism connected to an often outdated belief, designed to keep us safe. So next time you're making something harder than it needs to be, have an honest conversation with yourself about why. And then, take one small, doable, safe action and you might just find that once you get going, the task at hand isn't as difficult as you thought it would be.
08.01.2022 Behind all of my work lies a desire to support, uplift and empower. In my coaching, my job is done when my clients: * Recognise they are intrinsically worthy simply because they exist.... * Feel like they’ve been held safely, seen and heard. * Have had the opportunity to get in touch with what it is they truly long for. * Understand that the answers they seek lie within. * Have Increased their feelings of self-trust, self-understanding and self-acceptance. My tagline of CONNECTING WOMEN TO THEIR INNATE WISDOM AND WORTH is not an empty catch phrase. It’s my mission, my passion and my purpose. If you'd like to experience this level of support, let's chat. xx
08.01.2022 If you could express words of wisdom to your younger self, what would they be? I'm actually not too sure I'd tell my younger self anything. The reason being that who I am today is a culmination of every lesson learnt, every amazing and painful occurrence, every opportunity grabbed and missed.... Each moment in my life has brought me to this one. Each significant experience has shaped me. Could the wisdom acquired be learnt through an explanation instead of a lived experience... I'm not too sure. Would my younger self even have listened? Probably not! And so I look back with deep gratitude for it all, the good, the bad, the ugly. And I look forward with great excitement, knowing there's more wonderful expansion to come!
07.01.2022 I just finished an incredible session with a client, where the changes she is making and the actions she is taking are beginning to permeate how she moves through her days. She has increased levels of mindfulness, optimism, confidence, self-care and has found a wonderful sense of balance. It's inspiring to witness!... Once again I'm in awe of how effective and transformational coaching is. And I'm deeply grateful for the framework that the Beautiful You Coaching Academy has provided me with to guide people through their journey. But mostly I'm so proud of my amazing client! She is doing the work. She is taking the aligned action steps necessary to bring her goals to life. And the results are quite phenomenal!

06.01.2022 Here are some ways to take care of beautiful you. Have a wonderful week ahead. Kerry xx
06.01.2022 Try to get outside tonight to gaze at the beautiful Aries Full Moon. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and is related to our identity. It's linked to our I AM energy. As we enter this new cycle, it's the perfect time to remember we are responsible for our happiness.... The old saying "if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always got" comes to mind. Is there something we can do differently, to create the lives we desire? Is there something we need to shift or change, to become who we're meant to be? Expect some agitation and frustration (Aries is a fire sign after all) caused by external events and / or people. Try to stay in a place of loving kindness, showing patience and compassion to yourself and others. With Chiron sitting very close to Aries, this full moon brings the opportunity for deep healing. Past wounds and insecurities may rise to the surface, but if we're able to clear them away it will support our expansion and growth. A little releasing ritual you can try: Write a letter with all the stories, past hurts and self-doubt you're ready to let go of, and then under the light of the full moon, burn it (safely of course ). Words for this full moon: Truth Change Purpose Release Heal
06.01.2022 Beautiful ones, I hope you all had a joy-filled weekend. Mine offered a wonderful balance of connection, contemplation, nature, Netflix, family, fun and friends! I also taught yoga, had conversations with my coaching clients, and worked on my small contribution to the Change Yoga & Wellness's Teacher Training Manual (such an honour to be asked!).... I'm ending this long weekend feeling incredibly blessed. From the glorious sunshine, to my husband bringing me coffee in bed, to doing work I love, to spending time with those I love... I have so much to be thankful for. As you move into your week ahead, perhaps you can spend a few moments counting your blessings, large and small. When we look at our world through a lens of gratitude, what we have to be grateful for, grows.
05.01.2022 Our move to Australia was quick! It was 6 weeks from the date my husband's contract was finalised to the date we touched down in Sydney. Packing up and saying goodbye was a whirlwind, and I had no time to prepare mentally or emotionally for the huge transition that lay ahead. Leaving my family, friends and a life I adored was the hardest thing I've ever done and the first year in Sydney saw me spiral into a depression. Even though I met some wonderful people, I still felt... so isolated and lonely. If you asked me in that first year if I was okay, I would have said yes. That's what people who are not okay do. We hide behind our smiles. We say we are fine. I'm glad that there is an RU OK day in Australia, because It shines a light on mental health. But I know from my own experience, as well as losing two close friends to suicide, that those who need help the most often don't speak up. So what can be done? Firstly, we can talk about our own experiences with mental illness. The more we talk, the less stigma there'll be, and the more likely someone who is feeling bad will say so. Secondly, when you ask someone if they are okay, take the time to listen carefully to their answer and observe. Note the tone of their voice, does it change. Look at their body language, do they look away when they answer or fold their arms. Feel their energy, does it shift. If you have even the slightest inclination that they might not be okay, go with that impulse. Ask them the question again. Say that you care. See if they'd like a hug. Send a message later that day, telling them they matter to you. Buy a precooked meal (or make one) and leave it at their doorstep. Do what you can to let them know they are loved. These acts of kindness will go a long, long way. Today my love goes out to those who are not okay, and to those who've lost a loved one to suicide. Kerry xx
05.01.2022 Every time somebody says YES to coaching with me, I'm humbled. It's an honour and a privilege to serve in this way. To be let into someone’s life in this way.... To be trusted to support in this way. And when our journey is complete and my client has experienced incredible shifts, it fills my heart with joy and pride. I'm deeply grateful for this beautiful testimonial. However, I'm even more grateful for the inspiring human being who wrote it. I'm so proud of her for saying YES to coaching with me, because ultimately it meant she said YES to herself. YES to prioritising herself. YES to creating her beautiful, best life. YES to knowing her happiness matters and is worth investing in.
05.01.2022 Here are 5 ways to cultivate an abundant mindset: Establish a daily gratitude practice. Watch your words wisely. When you notice yourself saying "I don't have enough time / can't afford that" etc, swap this for I CHOOSE not to spend my time / money on that.... Savour the moments. Appreciate those first few sips of your morning coffee / first few bites of a delicious meal / first minute in a hot shower. Spend time in nature connecting to it's never ending supply of breathtaking beauty. Donate to a cause close to your heart. Wishing you a weekend filled with plenty... plenty of laughter, plenty of love, plenty of joy! K xx
04.01.2022 I love drawing cards for my clients. It's a fun way to support them between our sessions. I don't pretend to have psychic abilities, and my intention is not to future predict. Rather it's about offering inspiration, affirmation and prompts for contemplation.... I have 3 beautiful decks (and another one on the way, so excited!) that I've chosen specifically for their uplifting and empowering messages. What amazes me is how on point the cards are. Their messages are always aligned with what the client is working on. Do you have any card decks? If so I'd love to hear about your most loved one. Or do you use a journal with prompts or affirmations? These are so great too! xx
04.01.2022 Are you clear yet on what you want to call in this year, or expand upon? If not, maybe today’s Lunar New Year, as well as the New Moon energy (a great time for setting intentions) will provide the impetus you need to begin gazing forward. Here are questions that might support you in understanding better how you’d like this year to unfold:... This year I want to feel... I'm ready to spend more time on... By the end of 2021 I will have Before completing these sentences, it might be helpful to: Close your eyes. Connect to your breath. Drop into the present moment. Tune into your heart space. And then when you are ready, journal away...
03.01.2022 - . The most radical act of self-care that I've worked on over the last few years has been self-compassion. This has influenced how I speak to myself, judge myself and treat myself.... It has led to letting go of perfectionism and accepting myself as the flawed and beautiful human that I am. Increasing self-compassion can be done in a number of ways - through journaling, affirmations, meditation and reframing exercises. For me however, it begins with awareness. Noticing when I am being unkind and overly critical is key. Then I can draw upon my tools. This has had a profound effect on how I feel about myself and how I move through my world. It's increased my self-belief and self-worth. It's been an instrument of healing, expansion and transformation.
03.01.2022 Today I took my journal and blanket to the lake, to do some contemplating in the sunshine. With the full moon in my sign of Pisces tomorrow, and the promise of new beginnings that spring brings, I'm feeling a wonderful sense of renewal. Here's to the regeneration and rejuvenation of this new season! Happy Spring Day!... PS - how sweet are these baby swans. They stayed close to me for ages!
03.01.2022 In this month's love letter, which is going out tonight, I'll be sharing: * My top tips to move beyond self doubt. * I recommend - a beautiful offering for tweens and teens in Sydney.... * Details of my next retreat. * After qualifying as a yoga teacher almost 20 years ago, what I’m learning from participating in a teacher training. Want in... sign up below. xx
03.01.2022 I've had a busy (but brilliant) few weeks. However that hasn't prevented me from taking moments to pause. Moments to breathe. ... Moments to enjoy the simple pleasures in my life. Here are some pictures of them. If you're so inclined, I'd love you to share some photos or stories of what's brought you joy over the last little while... Kerry
03.01.2022 After months of not being the student in an actual studio, yesterday I went to Change Yoga & Wellness as a participant and was led through an awesome, invigorating, challenging yoga practice with the brilliant Treva Syphers! The class was so uplifting! The combination of Treva's energy, his humour and his upbeat music had me leave my mat feeling completely rejuvenated. I also loved the theme he introduced at the beginning - releasing perfection - a subject close to my hea...rt. I cannot wait to go back next week! I'm a big believer that our movement practices should feel joyful. That they should be a celebration of what our amazing bodies can do. Not a punishment in any way, shape or form. I'm so grateful that I found yoga. It's been supporting me in a multitude of ways for over 20 years. I'm so grateful to Change Yoga & Wellness for providing such a wonderful variety of classes and teachers to choose from. And I'm so grateful to Treva, for delivering exactly what my mind, body, heart and soul needed yesterday! Have you found a movement practice that brings you joy?
03.01.2022 Immigration. Defined as 'the action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country.' Yes, it's that. And so much more.... . Endless paperwork. Bank clearances. Tax clearances. Police clearances. Medical clearances. More paperwork. Queues. Lawyers. Closing all accounts. Selling your home. Selling cars. Selling your business. More paperwork. . Financial loss. Sacrifice. Regret. Goodbyes. Heartache. Reading a letter on the way to the airport your mum wrote to you, filled with encouraging words. Knowing you're taking her and your dad's only grandchildren far, far away. Tears. So many tears. . New words, phrases and references you don't understand (even in an English speaking country). New schools. New doctors. New dentists. New hairdressers. New bank accounts. New phone contracts. New neighbourhoods. Finding a place to live. More paperwork. . No support system. Loneliness. Isolation. Intense yearnings for the familiar. Intense yearnings for home. . Missing countless birthdays, celebrations and milestones. Missing your parents' 50th wedding anniversary. The distance between you agonising at times. . Safety. Security. Walking at night without concern. Acceptance. Resilience. Strength. Gratitude. New friends. Wonderful opportunities. A better future for your kids. Immigration. So much more than the action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country.
02.01.2022 Oh my gosh I'm LOVING this Facial Oil from Earth Bud. Well actually, I love all their products, but this is the newest one I've added to my collection. I've used facial oils in the past and it's felt like they've sat on the surface of my skin. ... With this one, the silky smooth oil really sinks in. It feels so nourishing! All of Earth Bud's products are amazing! I actually look forward to cleansing and moisturising at the end of the day because they're such a pleasure to use. If you're looking for natural skincare that's made with integrity and love, I highly recommend Patti's amazing range! Bonus: You'll be supporting a small, Australian business!
02.01.2022 When my clients are facing challenging circumstances, I like to encourage them to find ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ level strategies to support themselves. Let me give you an example: You’ve been asked to give a presentation at work and you’re extremely nervous about it.... The first thing we'll do is identify what the beliefs are behind your nerves? Do you believe that you're a poor communicator? That when you speak people get bored? That you don't know enough to give the presentation? Once you've identified the beliefs behind the feelings, it's easier to choose techniques that support you in transforming those beliefs (inner level) as well as techniques to support yourself practically (outer level). An inner level strategy might be working with an affirmation. Each time nerves arise you'll acknowledge the feelings, thank them for being there and then change the narrative to something that builds self-belief. An outer level strategy could be preparation. Doing research on the subject matter, writing out each element of your presentation and practising it. Using this approach is very empowering which is my favourite way to work! I love it when my clients can see how much control they have over their circumstances and that there are a variety of ways they can support themselves.
01.01.2022 I feel completely in sync with this season. I have a sense of rebirth as I blossom in my role as coach. Self-doubt is dissipating in the same way I shake off the heaviness of winter.... I know without a doubt that I'm doing exactly what I'm meant to. As I breathe in the newness my heart lights up with anticipation of all that is to come. Can you feel a difference in your energy aligned to the freshness of Spring?
