Israel this week became the latest country to confirm a carefully managed revival of cruise operations, joining other countries in Europe and Asia where strict health protocols have allowed ships to return. Royal Caribbean International will begin sailing from Israel for the first time in May, offering Israeli citizens a selection of 3-7-night itineraries visiting Greek islands and Cyprus. Sailing from Haifa aboard the new ship Odyssey of the Seas, crui...ses will visit destinations including Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens and Limassol. To date, it is estimated nearly 350,000 passengers have travelled on more than 400 sailings aboard 25 CLIA ocean-going cruise line ships since cruise operations began returning last year. These successful sailings, in locations including Europe, Singapore and Taiwan, are clear indications that a responsible resumption of cruising is possible with extensive health measures in place.
